I think leaf litter will look better if it breaked the "squared shapes" it forms, and if it had podzol down it in forested biomes (forest, oak forest, birch forests, jungle). It will also help the forest wolf to camouflage way better.

I think that'd be hard to do, considering leaf litter looks to be akin to the small white and yellow flowers, or blocks like candles or sea pickles. They'd have to create an entirely new block type just for leaf litter to make a new toggle status like waterlogged blocks, which I don't realistically see the Minecraft team doing. What I do see them doing, however, is making them be placeable on multiple block types, not just dirt/ground type blocks, and doing variants of it (possibly a green and more fall type colored variant). The green leaf litter could adhere to the grass/tree leaf color maps, so they automatically change hue to match the biomes they're placed in (i.e leaf litter in a pale garden biome appears more muted and grey, while the same block would appear more vibrant green in a jungle or forest biome!)

Leaf litter should be able to be green and then wither away into brown leaf litter to make it look like either the leaves have just freshly dropped or been there for a while/autumn fall, something like how copper is aging. And as for obtaining leaf litter, the green leaf litter should just be dropped as a 100% guarantee when breaking leaf blocks (and still give the chance for sticks/saplings/apples of course)

Ngl the leaves feel weird and out of place. Like, they're too frequent and stand out too much from normal grass. Maybe if they had a green/normal leaf colored variant (or generated when you broke leaves, or during a new weather event, or only in dry/warm biomes) then it would feel like a good addition, but as it is it feels wrong. The ability to use them as fuel also feels unbalanced given how they're literally just leaves and spawn literally everywhere. Maybe if they smelted like 0.1 items per leaf it would feel like a better addition

Cold weather triggers leafdrop on trees. Heat encourages leaf growth unless the plant is dehydrated. They should spawn green & slowly turn color, like unwaxed copper.

I have an idea, why leaf litter are treaten as "plants" (can't be placed on non-dirt blocks). If they are planning to impliment seasons, then tree litter can "grow" around the world during autumn. Maybe pale garden eye-flowers changing state during day/night is somewhat a test, how minecraft can handle updating many flowers as time changes, to see if it can handle season change.

I wish we'd get a crafting recipe to make full Dry Leaves block from the leaf litter. It would be like other leaf blocks, but brown/orange autumn colour. This would give us access to autumn colour custom trees! They could even add a Autumn Forest biome, which could be a sub biome of the forest. Nether portals could already be auto-chunkloaded...just keep sending a minecart back and forth through one. The dimension stays loaded for 60 seconds each time something passed through, this was done to ease the lag burden of having to constantly reload the dimensional data and this was originally implemented circa when nether portals first got added to deal with forgetful players.

When using a spawn egg, pigs in certain snowy and desert biomes spawn the temperate (pink) variant instead of the cold and warm variants. Even if they don't spawn naturally in these biomes, spawning them with spawn eggs or commands should give you the most fitting variant for that biome instead of the temperate one

I'd honestly love chicken and cow variants for different biomes! Brown and rooster looking chickens could be great, as well as black and brown cows! Sheep could probably stay the same since they'd have to make colored wool variants of EVERY new skin they make for the sheep, so I'm good without sheep skins for now. And honestly, as much as I love these variants and little updates here and there, I'd love some form of confirmation on what's to come. I like having things to look forward to. It doesn't even have to be actual ingame footage, maybe simple illustrations on stuff they have cooking for the future timeline would be cool, like little teasers on what the team wants to do in the future!

I'm really hoping they will add some sort of functionality to leaf litter, as well as make them match the colour of the tree they come from(along with falling leaves). I'm all for aesthetic blocks but minecraft is still a survival game, so it would be nice to be able to use them some other way. Like fuel perhaps? I can't imagine leaf litter would make good fuel but maybe we could make leaf litter blocks for that. It should be good compost too. (Edit) Also, a big pet peeve of mine that you mentioned, Spruce trees have flat leaves falling from them... That makes no sense. Leaves currently look like a fall/autumn thing. Odd seeing every leaf litter be brown.

To improve leaves liter and falling leaves. Make them look more like the tree they come from. There are literal conifères. That don't have leaves and instead have spines (for a lack of a better word. I'm French). Cherry blossom don't have to be pink. We already have the flowers for that. But at least have at different ones for totaly different trees that don't have leaves. Also if we get season. Thoses tree don't loose their spines in winter. They lose it all year round. And never look naked.

Not only does the leaf litter need to be placed on alot of blocks, but they need to add different colors to it as well, not all leaves that fall are brown
