This build of EM can't do much against branded unfortunately. If you're looking for a good branded matchup, you want a more machina-centric build with Ruinforce otk potential to beat over branded's giant assholes.

Regulus is playable in basically any machine deck, or even a deck that has an easy way to get machines to grave. At worst it's a splashable one-of Omni negate if your combo has ANY way of getting a machine in bin before any locks, if you can draw it off the top. Honestly, it's one of the worst designed cards in ages. A free summon with a ridiculously easy activation condition that's a body on board and a omni-negate, with no xeno-lock or summoning limitation to speak of. Remember when getting a single omni-negate took actual effort and risk instead of 'just have one of the most common card types in bin'? There are ways of giving Earth Machines a negate in a balanced way, but I didn't think it'd be this obnoxiously easy to get out.

Remember when dropping a quasar after a long ass synchro chain was the minimum effort you needed to drop an omni-negate to mess with your opponent. Now with regulus it’s literally just “oh I have regulus in hand and a way to dump an earth machine into my grave. Guess I have a negate ready to go to insulate the rest of my combos.”

It makes sense why on paper. The deck - that he's running, because he doesn't have Gearframe for some reason - is just the Master Duel deck but swapping VFD for Regulus, and in his deck, a Regulus that you're not regularly searching (because no Gearframe). It shouldn't BE good, given how much the meta has sped up. It is, but that says a lot more about what a sleeper deck it is in Master Duel than anything else.

Throw in machina gearframe and unclasspare and you're golden. Use regulus to equip a gearframe from gy, use gearframe effect to summon itself and you got yourself a free monster reborn + a free negate

Peacekeeper instead so you can get a search for gearframe. But I’m playing irradiator and air raider, so it combos better with that and reduces how often you can miss timing with peacekeeper- that said it still does what it needs to and gearframe’s options are too good to pass up

The fact that a level 8 with 2800 and an omni negate that can special summon itself from hand by simply having a machine in grave is called "too fair" goes to show what kind of Yugioh that's currently being played. I can't really imagine how cards can get much better without literally making a self searching omni negate 3000 attacker that can attack even on first turn and directly and flickering whenever it feels Mercury is in retrograde, which is to say always.

No idea how well it would out but a deck that runs Lair of Darkness and Zero-Day Buster. Lair of Darkness allows you to once per turn use an opponents monster as a tribute and turns all monsters on the field to dark. Zero-Day Buster requires you to tribute a Dark Link monster then you can target cards up to its Link rating and destroy them. They bring out a link 3 and it can potentially be a 4 for 1. You tribute their link 3 and then pop 3 of their other cards. A link 4 could be a 5 for one. Also this potentially makes ballista squad a 2 for 1, say they have a monster out that prevents you targeting any of their monsters? Ballista squad tribute that monster and then target another to pop it. Does it sound good? Not particularly but could be cool.

Im glad to see someone else thinking the same. The Infinitrack is super cool as it's resource loop is super consistent and I love it. But the Machina focused build I think is the way forward, because of the fact that Regulus serves both as negation and extension with Machina Gearframe. The fact it can equip the Gearframe you detach from Gear Gigant and then re-special summon is so much advantage for the deck. It means full combo is an omni-negate, draw 2 and a citadel

Yes. I have a list that I believe can beat most of the decks currently tearing up the meta. With the right hand it plays through multiple handtraps while still ending on full combo and your main combo only requires 1 card. So if you look up a sunavalon combo tutorial essentially you'll get big tree plus 2 searches. When you Search get therion plant and either shadow or bouncer. Next play therion plant before making big tree and use the therion to get the field spell. Next make melias with 1 Jasmine and summon loci back. Next make big tree. So if you searched shadow you can proceed to link climb into benghalancer, however if you still have a normal summon you can summon cactus bouncer and lock your opponent out of special summons. Effectively your ending on 3 pieces of interaction guaranteed all with 1 normal monster. This deck can also play adventure for even more hantrap protection.

Earth Machine needs a different link 1 to use for Cruncher. Regulus is insane with Harvester openers because you can just go into Goliath and summon Regulus to actually protect the chokepoint of the deck. If your starter is Cruncher.....hope opponent doesn't open literally any handtrap.

Playing this deck ive rarely struggled to break past a single interruption. That being said some people are opting to go for gearframe as the new starter over cruncher, who combos really well with Regulus in giving you another free body on board cause gearframe happens to be a union monster. This also means not being forced to play 3 of all the cards you want to search.

@@Rurike you play 3 of all the cards you want to search because they are good. There is a reason you run effectively 15 copies of Brutal Dozer because it is your best card. Also, no one plays the deck so 90% of the time I summon Metalcruncher it gets Ashed/Impermed/Veiler and I just go "okay good job" while I have Heavy Forward or the actual Dozer already in hand. Dozer is one of the biggest choke points out of any deck because he is already an inherent -1 to bring out and he loses to pretty much every hand trap. The deck needs really niche hands to play through Dozer getting negated since you don't run a lot of extenders.

@@amethonys2798 Sounds like people are still playing earth machine very outdated. Look at how people are playing the deck at YCS remote duel events and the like. People have been dropping cruncher and for good reason. I personally think playing more than 1 (even at that 1 seems not good) Your Machina engine gets you to the infinitracks, along with the infinitracks rolling you to citadel in the end. No reason to play that many infinitracks anymore. Also this list in this video shows you why people shifted from these type of lists.

Earth machine player here 2:23 is absolutely false the infinitrack engine cannot beat nib but the machina engine plays through it fairly well plus if you combine the machina strategy with a trencher harvester & tunneler you can easily extend past the nib with link plays and constantly summoning fortresses after you activate tunneler.

Just saying but plant decks can even use therions a bit better, king can negate twice per summon (because you can send lily) and on turn 3 you can use lily to target regulus and get another negation! If I may suggest sunavalon (if you want long winded combos with good end boards) or predaplants (if you want shorter combos but with a bit more variety in what it can do, and super poly)

I dont feel like this is the optimal way to play this deck. Playing more machina cards like Unclaspare, Ruinforce and more trap cards like Overdrive, IDP, Strike help more vs the meta. That deck actually has a really good grind game while it can run Floodgates like Summon Limit, Gozen or Rivalry no problem

You must play the field spell at 3 because in all duels only 1 Regulus i saw around there.

Normally, you're supposed to run Gearframe instead of Metalcruncher. Gearframe (into Unclaspare into Gear Gigant X) is a Union monster, so if it's in the GY, you ALWAYS search Regulus and equip Gearframe to it. Since he's running Metalcruncher instead, he often has no choice but to search Bullet Train instead, resulting in a much worse board.
