Hello from Brazil. The difference between Nightwish and Therion is that Nightwish writes orchestrations for soundtracks and Therion writes for operas. Christofer is a big opera fan and this is his inspiration. In the metal part, the inspirations are bands from the 70's and that includes Accept, Uriah Heep, classic heavy or classic rock. Most of its lyrics are written by Thomas Karlsson, head and founder of the magical order of Dragon Rouge, which Christofer Johnsson is a member. As for Slipknot, it's just guys with masks.

Amazing song... Sung in Akadian language (a language that dissapeared thousand of years ago). Having said this, to start with Therion with this song is like starting Nightwish with "Meadows of Heaven" or Epica with "Tides of Time"... Encourage you to react to "Ginnungagap", "To Megatherion", "Rise of Sodom and Gomorrah", "Via Nocturna", "Blood of Kingu", "Abraxas", "Adulruna Rediviva", "Land of Canaan", "Wine of Aluqah", etc etc etc... You have just discovered the founders of symphonic metal. This band's composer is Christofer Johnsson (the guitar player with long blonde hair), one of the best composers of our time. WIth Nightwish and Epica, you have the trio of master composers of symphonic metal. This concert was a special gothic concert at Budapest for their 20 years of existence.
