Those develish clips are really easy with the right tool. Hose clamp pliers is the name for them, they are also really helpful on the other clips that you squeeze together. Thanks for both videos, really helped me out. Job done, onwards and upwards 👍🏻

Hi Jim, thanks a lot for that video. Exactly what i needed for my 2009 XF so i don't end up wasting 100s of £ at Kwik fit or Halfords Autocentre. Are you a mechanic yourself?

No buddy, not a mechanic... just got a passion for the S-type (fool that I am🤣)

I have a question. I can see a leakage on either side of the thermostat housing. The car coolant level drops very frequently when driven over 40 mph roughly. I have to keep topping it up when going out. Would the issue be with the Thermostat Housing in this case? Or a pipe or a different part? Thanks in advance
@jpelectrics3 жыл бұрын
@@singr016 most likely the housing as they’re made of two pieces of bonded plastic and they split at the seam.

Did you have to bleed the cooling system
@PhilippeLoupPhL3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jim ! What a help you gave me ! Do you have some idea about massive petrol leak ? I had to change my thermostat housing (thanks to you ) after a safety stop because I had this massive coolant leak. The car start again just a short time after but, with big fuel smell. The coolant circuit works perfectly but roads are full of my fuel and exhaus lines smoke a lot !

Does it need bleeding after the job ? I imagine there is a lot of air in the system!

Most likely the part shown in my video - they are very prone to splitting….. usually a hairline crack which is difficult to see. Hope that helps.
