Guess it just reflects my mood Sitting in the dirt Feeling kind of hurt When all I hear is doom and gloom And all is darkness in my room Through the light your face I see Baby take a chance Baby won't you dance with me Lost all that treasure in an overseas war It just goes to show you, don't get what you paid for Battle to the rich and you worry about the poor Put my feet up on the couch And lock all the doors Hear a funky noise That's the tightening of the screws I'm feeling kind of hurt Sitting in the dirt All I hear is doom and gloom But when those drums go boom boom boom And through the night your face I see Baby take a chance Baby won't you dance with me Yeah Baby won't you dance with me Ah yeah Fracking deep for oil But there's nothing in the sump There's kids all picking Ar the garbage dumb I'm running out of water So I better prime the pump I'm trying to stay sober But I end up drunk We'll be eating dirt Living on the side of the road There's some food for thought Kinda makes your head explode Feeling kind of hurt Yeah But all I hear is doom and gloom And all is darkness in my room Through the night your face I see Baby come on Baby won't you dance with me Yeah Yeah Baby won't you dance with me I'm feeling kind of hurt Baby won't you dance with me Yeah Come on Baby won't you dance with me I'm sitting in the dirt Baby won't you dance with me!

@cv4wheeler Жыл бұрын
They did, it is called Exile on Main Street. The style you seek is driven by open tuning of the guitars (well, at least Keith's, but in this case, Mick's too). Exile was almost all open G tuning, which also accounted for half the tunes on Sticky Fingers. Keef was more open E and D on Let it Bleed and Beggars. Make no mistake, it was open tuning of the Keef's guitar that made the Rolling Stones "The Greatest Rock n Roll Band in the World." And, while it lasted, Mick Taylors bluesy lead guitar work.

Play this loud all the time in the car, BUT the first time I listened with headphones, I noticed Charlie doing that tom-tom beat during the opening riff, & the verses - pure GENIUS ! Rolling Stones, you ARE the greatest rocknroll band in the world EVER. THANK YOU, Mick, Keith, Charlie, Ronnie, and Bill, Brian, Mick T, and the Stones sessioners. Keep on rockin' - for all of us (been with you since I was a little child in the sixties).

The Stones were never about showing off chops, or glass-cracking vocals. They wrote & played great songs that touched our souls, and they overcame the petty differences that broke up other bands just so they could keep on rockin' - for us & for the sake of modern music which they helped invent. THAT is why they are the greatest. THAT is why they never lost their mojo. God bless them.

Some song parts good vocally, some not, sometimes he can't sing worth squat and they need to drop it... for good. Can't even hear the bass guitar . They're also propped up by phenomenal orchestras that shouldn't have to be. Sounds great, but uneccessary Houston got cancelled a few years ago: Roger's voice.

The average age of the member of The Rolling Stones is 70. So, why do they still rock so convincingly. Grace Slick once said that she dropped out of the R & R industry because she sees it as a something that belongs exclusively to the youth. Obviously that doesn't apply to these guys. This song and the video both kicked ass. I don't care if you're a fan of The Rolling Stones or not; if you love rock music, how could you not love this song and their performance in the vid? Seriously, it doesn't get much better than this. Does it?

I'm not the biggest Stones fan Bill (despite being British!), but you are absolutely spot on. What a track.This could have been recorded about 1971.

Colin Jones Exactly and keep this in mind. It was up for best rock song of the year at the 2014 Grammy Awards. It lost and I think it was a fair loss. What song did it lose too? "Cut Me Some Slack" from the remaining lead members of Nirvana, Pat Smear who was the 11th hour touring member of Nirvana and of course SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY!!!! There's another guy who still rocks as well now, if not better than most in the pack. I see no loss in talent from him since the day when he first touched down in my country and then two days later blew away the youth of the USA. I'm sure you've probably heard that song as well, but you if you didn't...please go check it out. Paul sings lead and it brings me back to the album "The Beatles" or as it's known "The White Album" when he put out what I think most people will agree is the first true Heavy Metal song, "Helter Skelter". Sure, they put most mainstream rock musicians today to shame; but now the rock industry is too expensive and near impossible for most people to get into, to be fair. What I hope this does is send a message to the recording industry that this is still a form of music that the people want! I think it's the USA record industry that has to be the problem. Because it's obvious that England still gets it. That's an assumption, of course; because I really don't know or have the time to find out who all of these people are signed to. But of the five artists up for rock song of the year,at least three were either British or had a British lead (Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones & Black Sabbath). I'm not sure of the other two; but it wouldn't surprise me if they too were British. Do note, however, the three of the artists that I just mentioned also started in the 1960's. This should act as a wake-up call before the "Best Rock Song" disappears from the Grammy Awards all together. There has to be room in today's diverse popular music scene for rock & roll. Sure it still has it's place, but it's been slowly marginalized over the past 15 years or so and it's not right, because, as far as I'm concerned, it's just as relevant as all of the other types of popular music and it's a shame to ignore it.

Colin Jones I'll tell u one thing: when it comes to rock and metal, Britain sure knows how to do it good. Britain has so many good rock bands out there: Def Leppard, Bowie, Stones, Beatles, Led Zep, etc and in metal, you honestly can't beat Black Sabbath or Judas Priest. Britain needs to keep making awesome rock and metal for me to listen to :D

Yeah, for some reason even we don't know we produce good rock. Maybe its the crap weather forcing teenagers to learn guitar !
@MsJagger1910 жыл бұрын
yeah. But you guys make really good music. And it can't always be rainy or bad weather there. I hope to see England some day. See Abbey Road, who knows, maybe catch a Led Zep, Rolling Stones, Judas Priest or Black Sabbath concert!!

Hey, all you senior citizens out there with old musical aspirations buried in your pillow at night...stay trim, work out, and if you can sing or play....the dream still ain't that far off. These guys prove it -- especially Mick. Even if they weren't famous -- they sound quite impressive. Keith doesn't give arthritis a chance to take up residence in his gnarly fingers. These grandpas are nuclear powered and don't miss a trick. It's all about attitude...they have it. Their waistlines are still competitive. They are not reading AARP magazine. Get up out of that chair Gramps -- while the youngsters try to cut a rug...you pick up the guitar and make it sizzle and cry. I am over 60 -- and I still hit the skins. Best cardio in the world. And The Rolling Stones are not even the oldest rockers performing today but they certainly do wear their Rock and Roll faces well.

*John LaStrada* ____Yup....you and seemingly other tens of thousands , are starstruck flabbergasted how these limousine driven millionares, manage to stay upright....during their charmed lives....while some other sillies are impressed how some wage slaves manage to enjoy a few measly years of pension after years of back breaking work.... Just like Hugh Hefner ,these dudes will still amaze us till they're 90........Ok John, I'll take you up on that chalenge.....but only if you provide the limos , personal trainers, expensive vitamin concoctions, hair extensions, the ability to chase the sun through the whole year , *and* ofcourse, the indispensable thrice a week masseuses to keep my aging legs flexible.... .......Bytheway ,just like these grandpas ,I can't guarantee though, that the music I keep on brewing, will be up to par with that of thirty years ago.....otherwise....I'm all up for it.....See you next week......
