As man who stumbled upon Samuels by the grace of the youtube algorithm gods, what I can definitely say is that his idea of what it means to be a high value man was a worthy goal to strive for. The mind set, resources, and appearance are all things I found appealing and I wanted that for myself. And when I began to start applying some of things he talked about into my own life I saw and felt a definite improvement in how I felt about myself and how others perceived me. But the key thing to keep in mind, is EVEN IF you fall short of that "high value" status, you will still be in a way better place than where you were before you started that journey. I was a career woman and was on track to get everything I worked for in that field, but I found myself at 27 asking why was I doing this, and got very uncomfortable when I couldn’t answer that question. When I figured out I wanted to be a mom more than anything, I confided in my husband about our “plan,” and said look this is what will make me happier.It turns out my husband was also question why he was grinding so much in his career, traveling 5 days a week and barely seeing me. He also needed more meaning out of it all. I’m now a stay at home mom to our 4 month old son.After the birth of our baby and needing to support us that gave my husband the kick he needed and he got promoted 8 weeks later. Now he has an even more high profile position and gets to be home with us every night. We are both much happier.

As a lifelong Muslim, I have to add that if the mother remarries before the child (boy or girl) turns 7 years old, the father automatically takes custody (unless he’s abusive, incarcerated, or engages in major sins). Islam respects lineage and recognizes that children are better raised by men who have a biological tie to them. Also, Islam teaches that the closet thing a child has to his/her father is the paternal grandfather and uncle.

This was a great interview. I had only started hearing of Mr. Samuels a few weeks ago and had a negative opinion based on small sound bites. I thought he was cruel to women based on these short clips. However, actually hearing him in full in this interview changed my opinion. He is telling the honest truth. I am married and older but if I was a young woman I would be soaking up this info.

Thank you thank you thank you!!!! When my ex-husband and I divorced my 9 yo son went to him. I got no support from anyone but I saw the need of him being with his father to learn and grow. I do get him every other Christmas, spring breaks and summers so I am still able to nurture him so he knows how to be treated correctly by a woman. I loved this episode and received many pings on why the WHY things have happened to me.

Hey sis!! As a mom, I know that was hard. I made the same decision when my son was 9. His dad went to prison and he came back to me, he's 29 now and still angry and bitter, arrested in his development. His dad is out of prison now, but he's only been out for 4 years now. Their relationship is strained, our relationship doesn't exist.

Wow,Kevin dropped gold. One nugget of gold was him stating the fact that women want to be independent and men are now used to just hooking up and now we have people living alone and paying more living expenses. When instead, a couple could share living space and are stronger together, just like tax breaks for married couples. 2020 to 2030 is gonna be a very interesting decade.

As a black woman this man is spot on! Just like too many black men have gone fatherless so has women. I haven't heard a man call a woman fat since my grandfather😂😂😂...and he was the epitome of being a strong black man leading his family. Too many men are having there masculinity crushed instead of cultivated and bridled. Too many women are taking on the role of men out of necessity and we are losing. When I got married I looked high and low for what 'respect' meant to a man. Very few people would speak on it as if was oppressive to women. I had a definition of respect but it wasn't working for my husband bc it was the wrong definition and most of the married women I looked to had no idea themselves. I had to look back to the things my grandmother said to me that I thought was outdated. We need more of this not just through youtube but directly in the home. This is my first time hearing this gentleman and boy oh boy I wish there were more of him. We don't hear this enough.
@HarrisPilton7894 жыл бұрын
My husband had to tell me what respecting him meant. In my case, it meant being more agreeable, less argumentative, and not dissecting and correcting every little thing he says and does. I am learning to inspire him to do things, instead of nagging him about them. Nagging doesn't work, ladies! Use the carrot instead of the stick. ;) BW have to be open to listening to what BM have to say, and changing our behaviors.

@Salchih - But that does not take into account cost of living index and household median yearly salary/income. $158k a year leaves you a bit of breathing room in a city like DC/N. VA, San Francisco, Honolulu, Hawaii, but the same career, careers for a joint earned household, that pays 6 figures in those cities will pay less in cities like Memphis, Gulf Port, Oklahoma City. Using that Economic Policy Institute information is no different than women using figures to show that they earn less than men, due to the number of factors that are just as important as the narrative.
@The_Equalizer234 жыл бұрын
Jack Spade Yes, the figures are an aggregate of the 50 states. It is each individuals’ responsibility to be aware of their local MSA data (neighborhood; zip code; state; industry; career/job/position). The issue is the majority of people aren’t aware and/or don’t care to learn. I reside in Arlington, VA...
@thespadestable4 жыл бұрын
@@The_Equalizer23 - But trying to determine what the top income earners are making is the legendary moving target in Black culture. Back in the 60's it was getting a college degree and living in the better part of town. In the 80's it was breaking the glass ceiling of middle and upper management, and living in the burbs, now it's what the top income earners are making to include the illusive "6 Figure Income". The more we play this game, the further we dig our own hole.

@@gabntumba2434 There is absolutely no need to respond to that lady that way. She commented about how she wanted to better herself and you felt the need to swear at her and basically demean her by saying she didn't listen properly and proceeded to give her a list of things YOU deem acceptable that she did not ask you for. Your comment is absolutely unacceptable and your advice was certainly not warranted in that manner. Sir taking your frustrations out on innocent bystanders online looking to better themselves is not very alpha, it shows lack of class which I think is the opposite of the alpha male you may be trying to portray.

@@gabntumba2434 The truth hurts sure, but there is no need to talk to someone like that who didn't ask for your advice. That's my point. Truth doesn't involve swearing at a stranger who has already identified their weakness. That is bullying, she didn't ask for your list on what a high value man wants - you are a total stranger on youtube with no credentials to back up why you feel you are in position to speak down to someone like that. Your comment was totally uncalled for. I'm in a very happy hypergamous relationship myself. So you can miss me with that ridiculous comment on men not wanting to commit to me. I'm all for submission however, no woman wants to submit to a bully in your case which is why you are probably single and in no position to be giving relationship advice anyway. That is my assumption from the way you jumped down that lady's throat like a hungry shark looking for prey. Your comment to me gives off a vibration of lack. Where is your submissive woman? Are you married? What are your credentials that qualify you to offer unwarranted relationship advice?

I am into health and fitness. I have always strived to keep a healthy BMI. I am from Los Angeles so I grew up watching the women in my family working out. However when I lived in the south more often than not I had men SHAME me for going to the gym, eating healthy, and keeping a nice appearance. I graduated from a sec university. These are men in that community. They are out here encouraging you to be big and telling you not to keep yourself up. Please tell them to stop this. They will tell a black woman to gain weight but marry a woman from another culture because of her appearance. Make it make sense. Some truly dont understand the damage they're imposing on women. Some of those women stay overweight because they're convinced that being "thick" is what's required. Let's address the hypocrisy of those standards.

Those men are called bums. Best thing to do is just ignore those guys and concentrate on men who are actually going somewhere with their lives like the men Kevin describes. Something he said really made me sad when I saw the truth of it. He said something like, black men want to date black women, black women know black men like to see a woman who is in shape, it is like a slap in the face that we refuse to give him what he likes. A few weeks later I was in a grocery store and there were at least 6 fairly attractive black men, and though they were not ripped you can tell they work out. There were about 6 of us black women in the store in similar age ranges and nice looking in the face, but by the BMI we are all considered obese.
