I have watched many drummers play 'pick up the pieces' but none of them groove like Steve Ferrone. Such a great feel and energy.

Cutting and pasting the solos on "Pick of the Pieces" is a testament to the metronome timing Ferrone has. His solo was fire. What a foot!

They're OK but to say that like they could groove with the GREAT JAMES BROWN BANDS IS NOT EVEN REMOTELY TRUE. I KNOW THAT YOU'RE ENTITLED TO YOUR OPINION AND SO DOES EVERYONE ELSE BUT THERE IS NO COMPARISON.

AWB was one of these best bands ever, great song writing, great musicianship, great vocals..

I saw Questlove interview Steve Ferrone, Ferrone said that his best pocket was show cased 'school boy crush'.I am a huge fan of his drumming but I say'Clouds' when played on Chak Kahns Naughty album.Woooo masterful playing that dude is putting it down a show!

"Person to Person - Live". All time favorite. Had the vinyl, had the cassette, had the CD. Misplaced or lost all over the years. Now I have it as a favorite on my KZbin channel.

According to the original members of AWB, their original drummer, Robbie McIntosh, was who the band looked to for keeping the them playing together rhythmically, whether by a sharp look or his awesome playing. Hamish Stuart said that Robbie's death in 1974 devastated the band for a "couple of years." His leadership and exquisite playing were deeply missed...

Those powers that b are going to wait until all the members are dead or one or two might be left. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is garbage.

I think Questlove muddled the opening question. I think he might have asked how much of an anomaly was the band being so good playing a music that was not native to them.

I’m just a little tired of hearing certain people refer to certain white musicians as “white boys.” I was around when AWB had songs on the charts, and no one had any doubt they were the genuine item in terms of their music despite their skin color and country of origin.

WHY? YOU HAVE SOME NERVE ESPECIALLY AFTER BLACK MUSICIANS WERE NEVER EVER TO THIS DAY BEEN GIVEN THEIR PROPER DUE HONOR OR RESPECT. STOP IT NOW AND LEARN MUSIC HISTORY. YOU ARE ANNOYING BECAUSE OF YOUR BLATANT IGNORANCE!
