I think the thing Bill wanted from Gideon (might) be a portal. Also, Bill NEVER breaks or not does his deal. He promised Dipper to “crack the code” so he cracked the computer. He offered Mabel “infinite summer” and gave Mabel Mabeland. Heck even his conditions are the same as he asks. Dipper was a puppet, Mabel had to just hand over the power and as already said, Gideon is a good deal.

The thing is that Bill just chooses the right words, leaving some stuff ambiguous and takes advantage of the fine print in a way that benefits him more than the people he makes deals with, specially if those people become a liability later on, hence he planned to get rid of Dipper but even after his death maybe Mabel would have continued his research and eventually found out that McGucket worked with the author, so even if he jumped off the water tower the deal wouldn't have been broken. And those that can be nice tools for later use or have helped him the most get nicer rewards than Dipper's case like Mabel whom gets a paradise to herself and Ford who due to making the portal gets the chance to join the Henchmaniacs and essentially being a god if he agreed to help Bill out with the equation. Probably the reason why Bill gave Gideon such a high position in the apocalypse and letting him be part of his gang (as well as the new outfit) was cause thanks to summoning him to get the password to Stan's safe, Stan got the journals to reactivate the portal which created the Rift which would break and create Weirdmageddon; with the latter being completed Bill had everything but made sure to give Gideon a reward as long as he was loyal to him, in his case the key to Mabel's bubble prison, maybe he wasn't lying about him and Mabel being destined to end together but he didn't specify he meant as friends or the closest to whatever they had with the whole Weirdmageddon situation going on as Bill doesn't have that much of a grasp on human customs or relationships as seen in his book

Old Man Mcgucket might be crazy enough to go scorched earth on his devices but Fiddleford wouldn’t yet have that level of crazy. You can’t blame Dipper for not realizing that, considering in the modern age every smartphone has this option. I didn’t even realize that the self destruct mode on the laptop was real until today, I just took it as a standard security measure.

Something I realized after Book of Bill and the Site's revealed lore on Bill. Not just the Silas Birchtree storyline *Bill made deal with a conman, killed the conman by swallowing a coin, possessed the dead body, made a cult, etc.* But in Stan's mind, when we saw the fears of Soos, Mabel, and even Mabel's mental dreamboys... They actually match up with parts of Bill's own past!!! Whether that is intentional or not, and possibly confirm the theory that the Zodiac members in that present time were reincarnations of Bill split up into multiple beings *Cause that would be fitting, bested by himself in a way* Soos' fear of the British dog, had one Eye, a cane and a hat. *Possibly representing Bill's Father Euclid* Mabel's fear of being Ugly/notcute *Possibly reflecting Bill's childhood of being bullied for his strange eye* And of course the dreamboys being... How do you kill Bill Cipher? Well, the answer’s simple………. You can’t. Bill’s existence is synonymous with the Mindscape. He’s more than just a person now. He’s an idea. You can’t kill an idea. Someone is always going to imagine a triangle with an eye in it. But ideas can change. So the only way to stop him is to change him. Hence why he’s in the Theraprism. The fact that he is so clever and so UNSTOPPABLE is why he’s the most powerful antagonist and/or character in all of fiction. The only one who could compete is probably the Scarlet Witch. Touhou has plenty of characters that can beat Bill Cipher, some which can even kill him. The main character Reimu Hakurei has dealt with youkai that can do what bill does, her ability to create barriers that serve any function she needs including nerfing the abilities of other characters with the creation of complex seals makes her the ideal opponent for bill. Doremy Sweet is able to create and eat dreams, making her a threat to bill while he is in the mindscape. Which begs the question, how does a being on the Mindspace space avoid beings who can eat concepts like dreams and thoughts?
