It feels like it was supposed to matter more than it did. Plus even if the wound was caused by a horn filled with dark magic, his skin was still broken and organs probably damaged. Don’t think removing the dark magic in the wound would heal it

My biggest issue is how they left things with Toffee. I know he was defeated by Star ( and Ludo ) to give way for Eclipsa to return, but he is a Septarian. It's proven time and again through the series by Rasticore that they can regernerate even if a small part of themselves are still around. So why didn't Toffee get a chance to return before the show ended? Yes he showed up in " Meteora's Lesson, " but they gave clear indications that he could come back. I was totally exspecting him to either be the main villan or ( and this was my hope ) he could return to be redeemed and help Star & Marco fight Mina Loveberry, and all we get was " SURPRISE!! " (( sigh )) Like Seth, Toffee deserves better.

Since his demon powers are separate from magic, he could possibly create a portal to another dimension. But I think what it is it that he needed magic to strengthen his portals to go to other dimensions in the first place. Because the underworld is no longer in a different dimension, he can portal there. But I don't think he has the power to go to other dimensions right now. But who knows if they do a season 5, he could be the key to going back to other dimensions again.

I've said this before, and after hearing the answers to these questions, I want to say it again: I think there's a way to bring back Marco's monster arm, introduce Seth of Septarsis, and maybe even do something with the dark stab wound Marco got in "Cleaved" all at once. Considering we now have confirmation that Marco's monster arm could come back and that Seth is dead, I think it would be cool if Star vs The Forces of Evil pulled a Yu Yu Hakusho. And by that, I mean make it so that Seth is Marco's ancestor, and have Marco inherit Seth's powers via an atavism. Almost immediately after Marco's monster arm returns as a result of the dark energy from the evil unicorn's horn festering in his body, it gets severed and completely destroyed. Star and anyone else present would be worried because Marco lost his arm. However, in that moment, Marco's arm regenerates, only it's green and scaly. The rest of his body transforms, until he looks like a humanoid Septarian. It's then revealed that Marco is Seth's descendent, and the one who will continue his plan to wipe all Mewmans. This could also satisfy fans who wanted an Evil Marco storyline. I know the idea of Seth being a human's ancestor is absurd, especially since he wants all Mewmans, and by extension all humans dead, but anything is possible. Of course if that's too far out, maybe they could just make Seth a body snatcher who hops from one vessel to the next, and thanks to Marco's body being exposed to monster D.N.A. and dark energy via the monster arm and the evil unicorn, Marco becomes the perfect host for Seth. And if Seth were to possess Marco, this would put Star in a tough spot, especially since she doesn't have the power to kill a Septarian anymore; not that she would want to seeing as Seth is possessing her boyfriend.

"i know a lot of fans thought it felt rushed, but i think that just means you want more." i'm sorry, but i'm going to have to disagree. i'm not going to go on a whole rant, but the ending and season 4 as a whole felt maybe not completely rushed, but poorly handled. where would this show go now? everyone adjusting to the two dimensions being cleaved together? cool, but some of the main aspects of this show were taken away and can't really be brought back in a way that doesn't feel like a cop out imo. the show needs to be left where it is when referring to tv. comics or novels are cool, but i just don't want the show to drag on more than it already started to. it lowkey seems like the writers wrote this ending, left lose ends, and are trying to now clean them up (this is all speculation, not facts). this is just my opinion. you can disagree, but i'm not really trying to hate, just giving my two cents.

I think Toffee and Seth orchestrated the events that lead up to the destruction of magic. Seth would lead the Septarians to victory to overthrow the Mewnans once they dismantled the very thing that could hurt them, and Toffee was to be the sacrificial lamb to put those pieces in place.

I've sorta come to terms with the ending of the show. destroying the magic was probably the only way to end things relatively peacefully without falling into a time-travel situation that would pretty much remove much of mewni's history as far back as Eclipsa re-writing history to prevent Solaria from creating the Solarian warriors. which in turn would create a paradox in which every queen after Meteora was never born with the exception of Festivia except she would just grow up as a normal child due to the whole switcharoo situation. So that wouldn't work out. Not to mention Since I finished the show all I wonder is if there is anyway for the magic to return like somewhere a piece survived and is just waiting to be able to blossom again. All that said the ending made me happy and sad and wanting more.

It's still plausible that Toffee could have killed Seth of Septarsis and then took his place as the new leader of the monster army. If the series could have continued they could have had that plotline (maybe have Rasticore bring it up) added in by having Toffee blame the Mewman's or the Butterfly line as responsible for Seth's murder which would have bolstered their hatred and desire for vengeance. Or maybe Toffee covers up Seth's murder and says that he has been placed in charge and will serve as Seth's authority from then forward. Then when the truth is revealed this really bothers Rasticore since he had been a loyal follower of Toffee before he became involved with Mrs. Heinous. It would be like learning someone you looked up to or idolized was actually not the person you believed they were. That's how I believe it could have gone. It's also possible that Seth's death is already known which is why there is no point in talking about it, but I agree there wasn't much point of mentioning him in the book of spells if he wasn't going to be utilized in some way.

I have a theory, a theory that Toffee regenerates back after the events of cleaved. Why I think this is because there was no explanation why Star's spell stopped the regeneration power of Toffee. For me I think Toffee's regeneration power stopped because of Star's spell, that might be similar to Eclipsa's spell, the spell that cut of Toffee's finger. Now that the magic is gone, I think the magic that's stopping Toffee's regeneration powers is also gone, which means that he might come back alive and regenerates. Right? Is this a bad theory, does it make sense for anyone? Like or reply if this theory is bad or wrong or something.

That would be a great way to start of the next season, if some studio would be willing to bring it back, with the whole monster arm. Like, time has passed, maybe Mewni and Earth are heavily divided or some places have found peace. The monster arm doesn’t have to be the first episode, it could be the third. The first two could be a direct what happened next, right where we left off. How Mewni and Earth are getting along, if at all. And maybe exploring the world a little more. I personally would love it if the two world combining also mean the planet got bigger, or else it would be severely overcrowded. And I also like the thought of serious conflict, as in there is a literal divide between them. Then, time skip, Marco and Star are still dating. Maybe something bad happens or it’s just out of no where, maybe Marco was having nightmares about the monster arm and Star tries to reassure him that it won’t come back because there is no magic. Then, poof! Monster arm! And along with that, and since star doesn’t have magic, she can’t fix it. So Marco and his monster arm just goes on a rampage. Maybe out of desperation, Star manages to use a bit of magic. But after she can’t repeat the act, she starts to wonder if it was simply something left over or if it was actually destroyed. I also like the thought that magic is slowly coming back into the world since it wasn’t something that could actually be fully destroyed. Or maybe a speck of magic managed to survive and started to grow just like the second season finale, but differently. Although I’m not opposed to the idea of exploring this new world without any magic, I really want to see magic return at some point. Even halfway through the season would be fine. If SVTFOE was to return I actually don’t want it to be with Disney, even though that’s probably the best place for it. This is because, after everything that’s happened and it’s audience, I’d like to see it mature a little more. Heavier themes, a little bit more drama, basically slice of life. But with magic.

My idea for season 5 might be a doozy. What if Star found the old wand, knowing it doesn’t work anymore and took it as a little memory. So Star show it off to her friends and boyfriend *wink* *wink* saying she’s keeping it as memory, but Janna remembered that the wand is powered by a Mill Horse, so she took one out of her hat and *BLAMO!* the wand is back. So does the magic, but it did not bring back Glossaryck or Magical High Commission

If the others perished from the destruction of magic, so to would that one. There is no "magic protection" under her hat, and if there was, it would have not worked because there is no more magic.

I really adore this show and appreciate all the hard work the crew had done for years but tbh the real problem with this show is the storytelling which is the reason of success for any tv show .. STAR had done many things right I mean the characters are great .. the music .. voice acting .. the animation , but the reason why this show went downhill is the weakness of building the events .. the writers built some events that didn't go anywhere instead of the important ones .. Even though I enjoyed the last season it was super rushed and poorly written and I don't think a new season , a tv movie , a comic or anything can fix this mess so let it end this way .. all respect to Daron Nefcy but she should know that she missed up .. she should learn from her mistakes to avoid making them if she want to develop a new series or whatever

When I first started this show I saw so much Potential. I was expecting it to be an easy 8/10 Cartoon, but this ending instantly dropped it to 4/10...maybe? I was hoping they would go against the Disney Princess Grain and put a new twist on it! I was hoping the Monster Arm and Marco's hatred for magic (both of which were aluded to multiple times) would make him go dark for the final season, creating the Ultimate Antagonist - who has a Sentient Tentacle Arm, Martial Arts, Dark Magic, and is a proven Strategist and Leader, who has spent 30 years in the Neverzone! *who wouldn't be scared to fight this guy...* They have an EPIC fight, talk about views between monsters and Mewmans, come to an umderstanding, and Luv winz again. *Awwwwe...* And everybodies happy, The End!

I know I'm crazy late to this party but I still have a question. If the skulls on Toffee's shoulders in his war general getup represent past Butterfly family members he has killed... then how old is he? The only Butterflys we can relate the cheek marks to are Moon and Eclipsa which he didn't kill. So they must've been other family members from a more distant, unrecorded past. Many assume Toffee was the successor of Seth, but what if they were on par with each other instead.

That means that tom could just go between dimensions cuz you know he is a demon that absolutely can go for earth without portal magic which means that star and Marco would see each other even if the dimensions didn't cleave
