I am just absolutely in love with her voice. I am not even a big country fan but it reminds me of being a very young child and her voice is just so stellar. Insta click when i see a new song with her in it.

The RH's and Sierra should collaborate more-what a fantastic combination! Come to think of it, between "foolin around" and now this, maybe an album of classics? Maybe a Scott/Sierra duet on "Your the reason our kids are ugly"? 😊

@TheRoyalHounds3 жыл бұрын
As the guy playing the bass in the video (Scott Hinds), I assure you, this was recorded live and not overdubbed and it's me on upright.
@TheRoyalHounds3 жыл бұрын
Besides, I play upright 99.9% of the time anyways.

She needs to lose the Loretta/Dolly affectation. She doesn't really talk that way and it makes her seem like a copycat. Just sing in your own voice. The songs are great, but they don't need to be sung like the original artists, who talked and sang in their own voices. Make them your own.
@PatsyClinesDaughter Жыл бұрын
She’s singing a cover- it makes sense. 🤦🏻♀️. Listen to any other song and she doesn’t do it.
@gmwPaul Жыл бұрын
THis is Good. Copying Dolly and Loretta is a good thing to be able to do. But that is missing the point. Go check out a bunch of her other work. Really. Really. This is one "thing" she does and she does it well - as good as anyone out there singing right now, but it isn't all she does. There isn't a more unique voice in Americana / Country / Old Time / singer songwriter style music out there right now. She incorporates a lot of influences making her hard to cateogorize but it is *anchored* on the fact that she knows and understands the traditions of country music broad and deep. She is a very complete artist. She writes great songs. She is amazing at creating new arrangements and she is managing her own band, successfully, for the past 18 months or more.
@gmwPaul Жыл бұрын
@@PatsyClinesDaughter Well she does on .. "making believe" and a couple of others. She does more of her own take on "Blue Yodel" and "T for Texas" but still stays traditional.... but I agree with your point. 98% of what she is doing is really fresh and clearly Sierra Ferrell - and in her live performances she sings mostly original songs that are her own, and that are done her way, but she can also break out and sound like 1953 anytime she feels like it... or 1930,... or 1998.. she can sing ANYTHING.
@gmwPaul Жыл бұрын
One more point. She grew up in west Virginia, in a small town. She isn't entirely faking the accent. She nails it perfectly because she is very close to it.
