Filming by yourself? This is a very well produced video, with alot of quality content in just a few minutes. Your dialogue is very natural and smooth. Thanks Coach Holly.

Great video. I like how Coach Holly breaks things down and encourages those of us who are older and maybe not in the best shape.

I agree with testing yourself without the band. I was doing pull-ups with resistance bands and within 4 weeks I went from 1 strict pull-up to 6 max. Now I'm working without bands trying to raise my pull-ups over 6.

Thanks for your video. I’m sixty five and have never been able to do a pull up. You’ve inspired me to start training. I’ll check in after my first true pull up.

Ahhh thank you so much!! I have been intense weight training for 2 month now and have progressed a lot, but have not managed a pull up yet :) So this was very helpful!

Coach Holly, you are my fitness goals! I did assisted pull ups 2 years ago but was too afraid of trying them without the band (fear of heights and of not being able to do one) so I stopped practicing. I wish I had this video then to push me forward!

Great video. Now is time to start the training.

I have been doing similar exercises for chin ups but the progress is painfully slow like years slow. It is hard to beleive that some can do this in a few weeks unless you are already shredded. I still think its worth trying, you'll get stronger in the long run, but if you have weak arms, keep in mind it is a long journey. I still cannot do a chinup without bands. The worse part for me is the beginning of the exercise.

Hey there! Totally understand. This happens differently for everyone but I think one of the hidden secrets to training any one skill is that it gets you thinking about it and practicing more than you were before. If you're already in the gym working your pull-ups, you'll probably end up working on some other upper body/etc things too. Strength comes down to consistency and technique!

This is a great video (as usual). Additionally, I have found success by hanging and squeezing my shoulder blades. I typically perform that as a warm up and work my way up to sets of 6 to 8 pull-ups & chin-ups. I also vary the grip to add to the challenge.

Hey Coach Holly, I have a question: did you lift weights to achieve your physique or did you do bodyweight exercises?...I want to get my physique close to yours...I appreciate the video...
@TheRunExperience3 жыл бұрын
I’d say a mix of both! I do CrossFit but I equally love a body weight workout. I do about half and half!

Can I use bands on a pull-up tower? It’s moveable and not bolted to anything. I weigh about 135.
@TheRunExperience3 жыл бұрын
If it’s not bolted, I might say have a spotter near you, especially because your one foot will be strapped in. Just to be safe!

Make pull-ups a part of your once a week routine, it will improve your over all fitness. If you are advanced try doing pull ups in a pike position 😉
