Just bought my Ninja Foodi, found this recipe and made my first batch of burritos - THANKS so much !! I had some slightly different ingredients - I used cubed potato and ham, added onion and bacon crumbles, can of baked beans drained of juice, cheddar cheese mix and added some large shrimp cut into mouth size pieces (put these in last 5 minutes). Cooking times were a little bit longer and NOW I have breakfast for the next two weeks ! ;-)

I was watching your videos before I ever got a foodi. I just got one of Christmas so I am watching them again. Thanks for the tip on how to crack an egg. I tried it for the first time today and I definitely like it your way better. My first recipe to cook was a breakfast bowl with sausage, bacon eggs, potato, and cheese. I love how the potatoes came out. I know it will take some getting used to because I thought my sausage was cooking and it never started because I didn't push the start button. Thanks for your detailed videos for newbies like me.

These look so good and I love anything I can make ahead so we have premade-homemade meals in minutes. You save $ and they are healthier too! If you are in a hurry in the morning it avoids the “I’ll just go to the drive thru” that we are so used to doing! I also used to make sausage biscuits and froze them because you could microwave them and they were easy to eat on the way to work. Thank you for your videos!

If you follow my tips for freezing them in my recipe post, they last a long time in the freezer! My husband and I just finished the last ones about a week or two ago (months after I made them) and they tasted just like I had made them that day! I really hope you love them as much as we do! No drive thru! Not only does it (fast food) cost too much, you don't know what you are eating. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment, I appreciate you.

This will sound weird to you, Louise, but although I know I cannot eat this for breakfast, but by the time supper rolls around I am usually able to eat. I thought this was strange, but when I went to the National Pancreatic website, it is actually quite common. Especially taking meds. I am dependent on Creon ($3100.00 mo) . I have to take it whenever I eat ANYTHING, including protein smoothies. I liken it to a diabetic being dependent on insulin. No Creon...no digestion. Simple as that. So... I’ve gone on too long about this just to say that one way or another I’m eating these delish looking burritos, lol... Before I realized that my daily meds and nutrients wouldn’t stay down in the am, but if I waited until evening I’m usually good to go. I went down to 87#. Around 90-95# now, and seem to be holding steady, partly because of some kitchen magicians (YOU, for instance). So...thanks from the bottom of my heart for you unbelievable recipes! Jo
@jodunlap29555 жыл бұрын
I just reread my reply on the Creon cost. It is actually $1463.23/mo not 3100. I don’t know where I came up with that #. Jeeze

My flour tortilla tore a little at the ends while I was folding it up! ☹️. Maybe it was the brand I used?? Maybe use a 10” flour tortilla next time?? I AC for 2 minutes on each side the extra burritos I wanted to freeze, let cool on a rack for about 10 minutes then wrapped in parchment paper and foil. They were still a little warm when I wrapped them. I then placed them in a freezer bag and quickly placed them into the freezer. Do you think I should have completely cooled them before wrapping? I hope they won’t be soggy when I take them out to thaw and reheat in the oven. Shall I leave them in the parchment paper and foil wrapping when reheating? Or reheat them another way? BTW...the scrambled egg and sausage mixture (I sprinkled a little Thyme, Garlic Salt and Cayenne Pepper seasoning with fresh chopped onion while cooking the sausage) is delicious without the flour tortilla by eating from a bowl and adding shredded cheese and salsa on top! Adding green chilies or drained Mexican corn into it too may be tasty! Yummy 😋 good!
@TheSaltedPepper5 жыл бұрын
It is better to have them completely cool so ice crystals won't form. Hopefully the parchment will help. Once you crisp them back up, they will be fine. I really need to make another batch, we used all of ours. I hope you reheat them in the Ninja Foodi! That Mexican twist sounds great!

I always buy them frozen at the market, but they never have good stuff in them. Next week I will have some rolled up with some scrapple and onions with eggs. For lunch, chicken tenders and refried beans with BBQ sauce. Let’s just make it a burrito day.

Here is the link to the new one: www.pamperedchef.com/pws/thesaltedpepper/shop/Storage+%26+Cleaning/Food+Storage/Classic+Batter+Bowl/2431 or I found something similar (I don't know about quality though) on Amazon: amzn.to/2TwJoR3 Hope that helps!

If you are a breakfast cook, then you could crack and open 6 or more eggs at a time. I only got up to 3 at a time, but now I'd be lucky to do 2 at once. I may have to get up before noon and make some breakfast burritos, or I could make brunch burritos with Mimosa Margaritas.

Did you put water in the bottom
@TheSaltedPepper5 жыл бұрын
No, there isn't any need to because we aren't using the pressure function. Here is the written recipe, if you want to look it over. thesaltedpepper.com/breakfast-burritos/

Can you use a frozen o’brien potato or hash browns with this??
@TheSaltedPepper2 жыл бұрын
I would cook them first, but I don't see why they wouldn't work.

Hey, it’s me again asking about the air fryer function on the xl oven. What temp and time would you recommend air frying in the oven. Like you, the air frying option on the oven is not impressive, but will it work for these breakfast burritos?
@TheSaltedPepper3 жыл бұрын
What I've found is it's best to increase the temperature by about 50 degrees from what you do in a smaller air fryer. That seems to work the best. Just keep an eye on them to make sure they don't get too brown.

Can I put onions in this?
@TheSaltedPepper5 жыл бұрын
Yes, of course! You can add or omit anything you like. You might want to sauté the onions a little bit to soften them.

Hi Louise.. love ALL of your recipes and videos. I just watched your egg roll video and was wondering if I could make these burritos with the egg roll wrappers instead of tortillas?
@TheSaltedPepper4 жыл бұрын
Yes of course! Just don't over fill them!

Once assembled and frozen how long would you reheat in foodie? Are they thawed first in fridge?
@TheSaltedPepper5 жыл бұрын
That's so funny you asked because My husband just got two out of the freezer and had to look it up! I go over the re-heating instructions in this post and there is also a written recipe: thesaltedpepper.com/breakfast-burritos/ From the freezer, I cook at 325 on Air Crisp for about 20 minutes.

*9:45* the cringe was strong that visual is gonna give me nightmares parchment paper would be a better choice, but also for heat. the foil retains and disperses more heat. if the goal is to prevent them from over-cooking...
@TheSaltedPepper5 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, parchment flies all over the place unless it is under food because of the fan.

@@TheSaltedPepper parchment down low pushed down but not pressed ill be trying it myself very soon😉 Are there any discounts that can be used through Amazon? I'm placing an order next week.
@TheSaltedPepper5 жыл бұрын
@@Sapioso As far as I know there aren't any discounts on Amazon unless it's Prime Day. Are you purchasing the Foodi? Be sure to poke holes in the parchment to allow some heat to get to the egg mixture and it will need to be weighted down with something. The fan will suck it up. You might be okay if it gets some of the egg mixture on the bottom to keep it in place. I'm still not sure the egg mixture will cook correctly. You might be better off using the sear saute on low-medium and stir occasionally until the eggs are cooked.

@@Sapioso I know you mentioned Amazon and I do have a link in the video description because a lot of people like to order through Amazon, but you can save about $20.00 if you order direct through Shark Ninja and it comes with a 1year VIP warranty. Here are both links, so you can decide what works best for you. Amazon: amzn.to/2P6XSpb SharkNinja: direct.ninjakitchen.com/16/products/ninja-foodi-pressure-cooker-op302/14/microsite/ogxix/ I think the reason people order from Amazon is because it's usually faster shipping. Anyway, congrats on your upcoming purchase, I know you will love it!
