It's fun hearing what speaks to people. Thank you for taking the time Ramona to share your thoughts. Now we can all hope somebody comes out with a 12 volt ice maker. I haven't seen one yet, unless you count Ecofllows refrigerator that makes ice.

Good tips. I added some additional reflective to our square drop. I believe you can save some money with the Dometic faucet hack. I “hacked” a Reliant water can by adding a faucet from Amazon for those water jugs you get at the store. So far, so good.
@PlayingwithSticksКүн бұрын
Great idea on the hack. I probably should have mentioned that in the video that we have Tim demonstrating that hack in a separate video of our. Glad you mentioned this. Great seeing you as usual Garret!

3:50 - I see Debi set her nüCamp T@G's bed up the same way I set mine up; since I camp solo I stacked the two OEM matresses up on a Froli System on one side of my T@G XL, and now I have an amazingly comfy bed combined with half my teardrop's floor space clear for whatever non-snoozing purpose comes to mind. I also found a seller on Etsy that made me a set of window awnings like Claire's, and sewed myself a pair of black muslin slipcovers that fit a couple 12" round foam rubber cushions, to pop into my T@G's portal windows on the doors - I like it *DARK* when I sleep.

I take back that "Come on guys!" comment. Haha. We keep interviewing ladies who prefer this layout. Glad to hear us men are doing it as well. I used to carry a trifold mattress, but I went with a bifold because with the family it can cover the entire floor and when solo it folds up nicely to give me the second half of the camper for spreading out. I've always wanted to try the froli system. With 4 people in our little teardrop it is always a bit of a moisture battle. Thanks for the tip on Etsy.

tip 1 - well thats my emergancy baggy. I keep a small stash of - 3 in 1 coffee, 3 in 1 tea, cup a soup, bullion cubes, and a little esbit stove and tablets (tripple bagged). For emergencies. i can just make myself something warm to drink in a pinch. 5- custom mudroom. japanese "floor furnature" rather then "just a bed" you can have a folding sofa for example, recliner, and futon sleep. Now mentioned before, rather then having a full galley, you can often make due with 1 or 2 small butane burners... BUT if you really want fun, rather then a microwave, you can get Propane Air Fryers. These can be used off grid... paired with the small burners you can now do full meals. baked goods, and real cooking.
@PlayingwithSticksКүн бұрын
I got to ask what's your brand of 3-in-1 coffee? For us, it's straight from the Asian grocery store, either nescafe or birdie. As usual, you always surprised me with something... I had no idea they made propane air fryers.
@jenniferstewarts4851Күн бұрын
@PlayingwithSticks nescaf sweet and creamy vanilla. And yeah, the air fryer at Walm, its a little heavy, 30 lbs, but thats not an issue for Basecamp or teardrops. Also it takes either 8 aa batteries, or plugs into a 12 watt inverter. So again, good for teardrops. Nice replacement or alt to a microwave

Man those window and skylight covers towards the end were awesome 😎 Great video! Are you still using the same bean trailer??
@PlayingwithSticksКүн бұрын
I used to think those were overkill. But now that we live in the lower 48 and we're camping in 100 plus degree temperatures, they completely make sense. We upgraded, downgraded, however you see it to the beanstock 2.0. It's Bean's bare Bones model without a galley kitchen. We find it's the perfect fit for our family during this stage of Life.
@michaelptm2269Күн бұрын
@ nice, so y’all aren’t in Alaska anymore?? Yeah the bean stock 2.0 looks like an amazing buy! When can we hear a review for your experiences and learn more about why you changed??
@PlayingwithSticksКүн бұрын
@michaelptm2269 Yes, we ended up selling everything and moving to Thailand for about 3 and 1/2 years. And then when we returned we decided to live down here in the lower 48. It's been hard being away from Alaska, but there's other things down here that make up for it. In our bean stock 2.0 review video we kind of talked about what sold us on the trailer. But yes, at some point next summer once I really get a good feel for this trailer, I'll do an in-depth walkthrough of the philosophy behind it. We also did a video not too long ago about how we outfitted our current bean trailer. I think you may enjoy that one. And then I'll make a future video similar to it next spring, but I'll outfit it all with budget components.
@michaelptm2269Күн бұрын
@ wow, why Thailand? Was it for your work with disabled students (I believe that’s what you do correct? Physical education). That’s an intense move for a gringo haha

@ All of it. It’s great to see what issues people have in their space and how they solve them. Some of these would be very helpful to the new “micro” apartment set.
@PlayingwithSticksКүн бұрын
@raeperonneau4941 a lot of the inspiration I get is from small Japanese micro apartments. I completely see the crossover.
