Opinions of others and what people around us compares us to really gets into my head. Being in a position where I'm still struggle to get to where I wanted to be is not an easy one. Thanks for sharing this and making this video! Give me something to look to, and remind myself to focus on my own growth once more. Your videos might not be the best in the world, but it sure means something for others! ❤️

Don't let opinions get to you...you can listen but if it doesn't resonate for you and your own life, let it go. "To thine own self be true." I suppose this also works for, stop comparing. Good advice, thanks for the video!

2. Opinions. When you mentioned "even the opinion of the people closest to you, the people that you love and care about, may not always be ones that point you in the best direction".. I guess you must have gone through a lot. Btw, everything else resonates too. Thank you.

HL and Glo have really stepped up their visual storytelling game! The “long exposure” effect during the “don’t let opinions get to you” rule, the card games throughout the “don’t compare” rule- I’m always delighted by how you’re able to shoot creatively. I personally struggle with comparison most and I’m working on recognizing we’re all in our own “starting points” and “finishing lines.” Thanks for another thought-worthy video, Thoughtworthy Co!

I love this content! very relaxed and informative. I appreciated the extracting juice from the orange with the "extracting value from the right opinions" what resonated with me the most was point number 1. I remember one time I said to my parents "I want to fail, and I want to fail a lot!" They looked at me like I was insane because inherently no one wants to fail. What I forgot to mention was the principle behind my failing statement: with more failures, there's more learning opportunities and more steps towards what we want to achieve. It also trains your mind for future failures and 'out of your comfort zone' opportunities.

Haha for sure, nobody goes into something "planning" to fail. Failure is just a natural by-product of trying. Gotta embrace the process! 🙌 Thanks for the comment!

It's our life, so decide to do what we want at our own pace. We don't need to be conform to the norm as each of us is an unique individual, a Masterpiece! So there's no fall back, no need to catch up. We just need to really Live our life, and enjoy it.

I fail all the time in my job. Sometimes I need to in order to find out what not to do or what doesn't work. I am an artist/crafts person/ repair tech in my shop and I fail all the time but I don't let that get to me because it forces you to look for solutions to the problem. Also, your early videos are not bad. All of your work has had a certain polish to them and they look very good.

The first two points are very obvious (but hard). I was still surprised that you took your channel and art as examples that make or made you insecure at some point. To me, your work seems so sleek and thought through that I would undoubdtedly take you as an inspiration if I ever tried to start a channel myself again. You are doing great!

Thanks for that! 🙌 Every video and every piece of drawing that's been published had to be done and redone many, many times before we can feel confident and comfortable about them 😅 Yikes, the hours spent getting over those insecurities - we are our worst critics! But we're always very happy that there are people out there who enjoy and appreciate our work 💕 Yup, actually, we would even say that all four points can be considered obvious (but not easy, like you said) rules to follow. We're hoping they can be reminders for ourselves and our viewers on some of the things that most of us already know we should be doing, to keep our minds healthy :) Best wishes and Happy New Year!

Great video and a nice motivating topic! One question I ask myself now is: How to "not care" about other people's opinions? How to get more comftable with yourself? Is this concentration on yourself just egoism or is it a good armor for protection? And the last question: Are all those questions before just a sign of self doubt? Greetings from Germany and stay healthy :)
@ThoughtworthyCo4 жыл бұрын

I was greatly struck with number 2: Don't let opinions get to you. Most often than not i tend to rely on other people's opinions about me. I am slowly overcoming it though. And with baby steps i am hoping that i will soon be able to focus more on what fits my personality and life. It's kinda sickening to listen to everybody's opinion sometimes.

Oh so from your post - I normally click your videos VERY FAST but because of this title I didn't want to. I even tried to watch this video a few days ago but kept stopping. This for me is because 'how to be happier' type of videos all seem to have the same advice, very 'School of life' or 'Nathaniel Drew' and if I wanted that I'd go to those channels. But because of your post i decided to watch this all the way through and honestly didn't enjoy it soo much and not because it sucked. The editing is beautiful, especially the clothes throwing. I just think the topic is boring for me and not why I watch your channel - perhaps you have an older audience? Your channel is more unique for me. You produce content about topics I don't spend enough time thinking about. Like why you sit on the floor or fun ones showing you can be messy sometimes which was done in a fun way. I'd love to see a minimal outlook on finances video. Maybe this gives you some insight. Love you both! Love the channel! Can't wait to buy merch!
