I know I'm late for this one. But one of your newer videos got recommended to me so I'm kind of catching up. As an American dude, I LOVE Chinese food. Both Americanized, and real deal Chinese (and all it's amazing varieties/provincial differences) I even studied Asian cuisine (specializing in Chinese and Japanese at the Culinary Institute of America, never finished sadly). So, I'm always looking out for new channels that cover Chinese food (or mainly cover it) so when I saw you and all the videos of just straight up Chinese and other Asian cuisines - oh boy. AND, my absolute favorite food in the world, is chow/ho fun. So, color me happy to have found your channel. The way you describe things is very down to earth, if that makes sense. And you do have a glorious beard my friend. :D

I'm very happy that you found my channel. It's what KZbin is all about frankly...content creators making videos about topics dear to them and viewers finding videos that matches their interests. Being Chinese, of course (and Asian), Chinese food and Asian cuisine are dear to my heart. I'll be making more videos around these topics. There's no doubt about that. I hope you watch and find them enjoyable.

thank you so much for sharing about China Boy! I have walked passed many times but didn’t realize that they specialize in rice noodles! I have to try next time I am in chinatown.

Yeah, they're such an unassuming place. Anyone can walk past not knowing what they're all about. Do try them in the future.

CB is the bedrock of DC Chinatown. I have been going before the pandemic when you could eat indoors. They used to make mu shu skin as well. The previous owner made the best chili oil, I use to go there and buy their raw noodles and a jar of their additive chili oil. thanks for making this video. The only other place I know that makes fresh rice noodles is Hing Fat in Wheaton. China Boy has a firmer feel vs Hing Fat. Both places makes excellent noodles, depends on your preference.

@@yumyumhotsauce1 I recall China Boy's layout too before the pandemic and before they renovated. They had two round communal tables in there if I remember correctly. I don't recall the food there though...or, the chili oil. I wish I had known.

@@yumyumhotsauce1 Oh, and thanks for the tip about Hing Fat. I didn't know about their making noodles. That's really good to know. I'm going to have to go there and check them out. Haven't been there in a very long time.

There's a place in NYC Chinatown named Mei Lai Wah that made their beef cheung fun with sliced beef strips not the ground meat. It was the bomb. Also I think the sauce is a sweeter superior soy not the regular soy sauce you get in a packet. As kids we used also douse the beef chow fun with Red Devil hot sauce. Ahhh them were the days.

Oh, yes, Mei Lai Wah. I've gone there for their famous cha siu baos. But, I've never had their beef chern fun before. It's sound really interesting. Beef strips instead of ground meat? Never seen anything like it. And, you ate it with hot sauce? I've never done that before. Growing up, my parents never introduced me to spicy foods or spicy condiments.

@@Vablonsky Actually Red Devil hot sauce was pretty benign. It was more for a little fun than spice. Only on the chow fun not the cheung fun.
