I've got a few with lots of downloads - I did a rebuild of the Oasis Springs museum (Oasis Springs MoSI (v2)) which has about a hundred, but otherwise, most of the popular ones are things like fully grown base game plants so you can avoid the faffing around with grafting or with the random seed packets, or the collection sets because it lets people avoid the tedium of waiting for the RNG to finally give them the missing element

Same, I am always shocked when someone downloads one of my builds, and a few of my non CC Sims, lol! I gave up on people downloading my Sims awhile ago, but up until recently I wouldn't use CC in my builds, because I do get a lot of downloads, with some, but I realized it's not worth it, I deprive myself of something like, all to satisfy strangers, lol! But not anymore! 😉

@@nikkicat254 The only thing I'd try to download from the gallery in terms of regular Sims is if someone has built a family that adds to the diversity, like a family of Indian or Nigerian heritage. I can build people of European decent easily enough myself, and if I want to go the extra mile, I can even check the spelling of the surname for a specific country, but when it comes to ethnic groups I can a fair bit less confident. I know it doesn't matter if my Sri Lankan sims (for example) don't have real names, but I like to get those right. Now I'm wondering if someone has considered a CAS mode for cultural appropriate naming and clothing... Though good luck for whoever tries given that some cultures adjust the spelling of a name based on numerology!

I absolutely LOVE all the creators you mentioned. These are some of my faves. I think the only one you didn't mention that I always go to for BB is Ravasheen. Her creations are all maxis match and she has so many functional objects that SHOULD be in the game, or are great for challenges.

I wish you had included a pinned post with the links to the creators as some of them aren't on the Curseforge. Frustratingly, JohnnySimmer (and AHarris00Britney) are on there, but they don't have their packs as a bundle, just their individual pieces, and their Curseforge profiles don't link to the websites. As for the gallery, a huge issue is the filter by pack option doesn't work. If you filter by owned, you should see things that ONLY use the packs you own, not ones that use them. I just did a quick check of the first 20 things shown when I looked up stuff on the Gallery for packs I own, and 16 used packs I don't have, so that filter was completely pointless. Something that would be nice though is if they linked the gallery to Curseforge for CC, so the gallery download would also check your CC files for them and pick up the ones you need, but they really don't seem to think about users much with how it is designed...

I had to laugh when you said ' no one downloading your stuff ' because yes I do that, I worry that if I make a build ( especially, not so much Sims ) and use CC, no one will download it, so I deprive myself of good CC that I would enjoy playing with, just so I can share my builds on the gallery, and maybe, just maybe get, if I'm lucky, 20 people to download my builds! And I know it's so silly! I mean I didn't have that thought with TS2 or even TS3, but I do with TS4, because of the gallery and because they stamp modded Sims or Builds with the dreaded MOD check! Which is why I recently downloaded a ton of CC, which is why I made sure to watch this when I saw it, in case there was something I like, which I did see a lot I liked! So thank you! Also, I recently downloaded all your stuff, especially your girls, but also your builds, I also gave the girls makeovers, lol!

If you would like a good male sims 4 cc pack I would recommend Lonelyboy, they create amazing clothing cc for male sims mostly surprisingly enough they aren’t modern like trackies but they create amazing vintage men clothing instead of the well more feminine clothing or that type for men if that’s what you would like

Surely we've all accepted at this point that the only use for the gallery is downloading a Sim that's unlocked all the clothes or a 1x1 room with an angelfish in it

It's maybe worth it for community lots since those may involve lots of digging around in Debug if you want to do a good one yourself, and also for following certain creators like Kate Emerald who does impossible stuff in the building mode, like when she made a pool in the shape of the Playboy logo in a now deleted lot (apparently the show it was used for was abusive towards people being filmed so she decided she didn't want to appear to endorse that show)

Shell challenges are also a fun use. Lilsimsie puts down random walls in a weird building shape, and then everyone gets to turn it into something without changing any walls, uploads it to Gallery, and then gives their Gallery name to Lilsimsie so she can tour them during a Twitch stream and show off how different people made it work and different tricks people discovered- we all, lilsimsie included, did not know the triangle baths have small deco slots for candles/bath clutter until the tour at the beginning of this month.

Want to shout out Liliili (LILIILI) for their "CC Pack 2020" "1K Followers Gift" "Ewen Clothes Set" and "Dick Clothes Set" - they're all masculine presenting, "normal" clothing pieces that aren't all sweaters or kpop - more modern, classic, and trendy (there might even be a track suit 🤗) I believe there's more floating around but it seems they've had multiple sites open and close so it's harder to track down the older ones they have no relinked. Good masculine clothing is so hard to find that I generally do have to download it in literal pieces. Looking at my mods folder, I have so many one off downloads from smaller creators for masc wear (vs femme, which some creators have their own subfolder, because I have so much of their stuff 😆)

I will say this about Sims 4... while the game is garbage and I would have preferred an upgrade in graphical design to Sim 3, its aesthetic is perfect... for The Sims 2!
