In many countries including The US and Canada, bunnies aren’t valued as much as cats and dogs or even birds though birds are being bred at an alarming rate by backyard breeders and lots of re homings / abandonings going on. There’s a lot of cats and dogs in shelters or in the streets due to over population because people still don’t spay and neuter them. Rabbits locked in cages or enclosures because people don’t do their research on them either. I’m sick of humans though I am one myself. I try to do my part but the battle is too great. One animal at a time I suppose. Thank you for educating others about bunnies. These babies are too often forgotten about. I have two, both fixed and free roaming.

I feel the exact same thing. So frustrated with irresponsible owners. The best thing I could do is take care of my buns and leave food in my backyard for wild birds, squirrels and rabbits...I love them so much but feel so helpless 😢

Selective speciesism 😢. As a single active part of this cause, education is so important as the root. It’s exciting to learn and love and learn how to love a new animal like a rabbit 🐰 it takes a certain kid of person Ofcourse, but with proper education and determination anything is possible ❤

It’s good for us to see how many people from all over the world look after these sensitive creatures. Thank you for bringing them gifts and for sharing the organization to the rest of us. This video is honestly enlightened to how the animal world can viewed by the world all together. Animals are living beings, they have emotions too, bunnies can even show you just how much emotion they could contain by thumping their leg in irritation or jumping for joy and just sleeping in your presence because the bunny felt safe. It makes you feel the wholeness to know your doing something good from even just a small gesture.

Many veterinarians recommend adding pineapple or pina-colada yogurt to the daily diet. Most rabbits willingly accept the yogurt, especially if they are introduced to it at a young age. Yogurt not only promotes and maintains the normal bacterial flora within the digestive tract, but the pineapple contains an enzyme (papain) that is thought to help dissolve any hair that has been eaten. have you heard of this?

Hi Lorelei!! First of all, I wanna say that you are doing such an amazing job and I'm a big fan!! In India, rabbits are not even considered as pets. When you say "pets", the only animals that come to mind are cats, dogs, goats, cows and birds.. Rabbits are not even an option. They are only used for their meat and fur. There are not even proper rabbit vets in many places, so its impossible to get them spayed or neutered.. People just dump their rabbits, if they even have any, in cages, they don't care about their proper nutrition, proper shelter or anything.. 2 years ago, I got 2 rabbits after years of begging my parents for a pet.. I never really cared about them that much either because I thought that only dogs and cats could be pets.. I kept them in a tiny cage, never let them out and just gave them 3-4 carrots to eat. That's when I accidently came across your channel. I started watching your videos and realized the value of rabbits.. I threw away the cage, and gave them a whole room to themselves, started researching more on their nutrition, etc., etc.. If it weren't for you, Lorelei, I would've never known the importance of rabbits.. Love and Regards, from India

I just can't stand it! I'm 38. I have never eaten it and nor will i ever do! I think it's disgusting! I already don't eat a lot of meat. I'm not a vegetarian/vegan. Though, i think i could be a vegetarian but i really love meatloaf. That's the most of meat you'll see me eat. Anything else i don't eat. Nope, i don't eat fish either! I'm from Shenzhen China and I see the lack of bunny education everywhere. Even though I live in a large city, I still grew up seeing rabbits sold in the tiniest cages (literally the size of their bodies) in front of school gates. When I went to Sichuan it was horrifying to see rabbit meat restaurants (though I don't think there are any in Shenzhen). I think rabbits are the same in India as they are in China they aren't seen as equals of dogs and cats they're literally just commodities or toys that children find amusing.

He was very dear to me. We were very close but due to a certain mishap he was attacked by a stray cat and he died in my arms. I have tears in my eyes as I'm writing this. The time he was Injured we were getting him a new female rabbit but he couldn't survive. There was no rabbit vet care near us. So now we are left with the female one. I wish I could tell you about both of them. Her name is Ruru and guess what she loves to sleep with us, cuddle us on our bed voluntarily and that's the best feeling I swear. After watching this video I'm planning to adopt one from the vet care.

I couldn't watch this video, seeing bunnies in cages just broke my heart. I'd never put my bunny in a cage, he doesn't even know what a cage is! Thank you for all the work you do!

Oh it's so strange to see rabbits costing only 6 dollars, which is honestly not a good things. The value on rabbits are so low that it kind of hurts when they cost 6 dollars. That means they are very much disposable, and won't get cared for as much. Not everyone is going to not take care of rabbits properly, but a good majority is probably going to end up neglecting their rabbits needs. The higher the cost of something the more you'll take care of it. I know my rabbits costed me 100 dollars for each of them so a total of 200 dollars, and I'm making sure they have the best life I could possibly give them. They might not be free roaming because I have other pets, but their enclosure size is 4 foot by 9 foot (I'm guessing when I say this because I'm not completely sure), which takes up 70 percent of the space available in my room, and my bed takes up another 20 percent, so I can open my closet doors and get out of my bed. I can only imagine what conditions a rabbit that only costed 6 dollars lives in. My heart hopes they live freely in the home or in a large set up, but my mind says they live in very tiny cages by themselves.

I live in turkey and I’m from the us and you could go to a pet store and buy and rabbit for 5$ (150 Turkish lira) you could even bargain it down To $3 like in the video if you buy all the supplies and food and cages from them too. It’s not because rabbits aren’t valued (they aren’t really) but it’s because of the currency and stuff like that. That’s why it’s so cheap, but there are rabbits for all price points. There are show quality rabbits of different breeds you can get for $80-90-100 (2000-2500). I actually wanted to get one this really really cute small gray Netherlands dwarf it was so cute the smallest ears I’ve ever seen, but unfortunately it passed away before it was ready to come to me but that one was $90 which I know in the us an rabbit of that quality would be 5 or 6 times the price but it’s the equivalent here. I got my rabbit last week, after the one I originally picked died I check all the listing online messaged all the breeders I could find and looked at a bunch of baby bunnies but I couldn’t find any that I like enough to pay 2500 lira for and then eventually I found one from a different breeder that was still a Netherland dwarf but it wasn’t show quality just normal which was fine I got it for 900 Turkish lira which included the bus price of getting it to me from Istanbul to Antalya which I like $30 and I’m so happy she’s so so much cuter than I thought she’s so nice and chill.

I love your videos keep doing what you're doing. Even one small act can change the world. Thank you for all your videos informing people about proper rabbit care. Ps: I have a question about rabbits will a neutered male rabbit and a unsprayed female rabbit get along?

I've heard rabbits and guinea pigs don't get along but even before I stumbled upon this information I had already been roaming my guineas and rabbit lol... they never fought sometimes I'd catch them loafing together. 😂
