I guess it can work if you’re in relatively warm weather. I’d rather go with an ankle cut boot like a Chelsea or Chukka if it’s my only option other than my sneaker. His choice makes sense for a weekend trip to someplace warm but not a year round 2 shoe collection.

Go your local higher end suit stores and tell them what you are oooking for and they will order you in cheaper alternatives that look just as good if not better I pay about $350 for to boot New York and they last me 3 years a pair

DO NOT listen to this bad advice! He is going for style & look over practicality. Those 2 pairs of shoes are not supportive, reinforced or grippy. Trail running trainers like Merrell or ON Clouds, Sorel Madison chukkas for comfort & style.
