The Digger is such an overlooked unit, maybe because the rest of John's kit is geared more towards economy than combat. In the hands of Classic Victoria or Hojo Tokimune, they would be an absolute nightmare.

Very much so. Australia is one of the few civs I would consider navally invading Hojo because of that reason. Sounds like you have an idea for a great Naval combo civ!

I always wonder why you dont get vertical integration after building a perfect city fot it. Seems a waste to talk about it and plan for a the city to use it, and then not put any points towards it.

Haha! Yep! Was using Magnus's Provision in the capital to keep population while I kept settling, and slowly set up Vertical Integration to be ready for when he moved to the central city. I'm sure it could be optimized better, there was just so many islands to settle!
