This is great information, thank you! Question though, I make candle jars but I also make concrete ashtrays. Would these be good to seal them as well?
@upvibecandle Жыл бұрын
A sealant protects contents from getting through. I am not sure if they stain from a cigarette lying directly on it. I would suggest testing them to see.

Does the wax leave a stain on the inside of the vessel with Simple Coat similar to Eco Advance (the ring around the top of the wax after the wax shrinks)?

Would a sealant also be needed for your personal mix (plaster/sand/cement)? I've been searching and thus far I have non of these products in my country 😢 (Trinidad and Tobago) except the thung oil😅

You only need to seal after your vessel has cured.

This video is so awesome & helpful! Q: With Eco Advanced at 7:36 you mention (after you applied the sealant) waiting for 2 weeks then you add the wax? Is it 48 hours or 2 weeks after applying the product can you add wax?
@upvibecandle Жыл бұрын
You should be good after 48 but it takes up to 2 weeks to fully cure.
@kristieleighauthor3 ай бұрын
@@upvibecandle I know this is older, but for me, the newbie, can you explain this? So you can seal them and add the wax after 48 hours, but they take 2 weeks to cure. So what is the 2 weeks for? You have to wait to use the candle?

Hi Jai. Thanks for the video. Have you used any of theses sealants to seal the hydrocal jar you made? I made a hydrocal jar and tried to seal it with ECO advance, just like I do with the cement jars, and it did not work at all. The wax started seeping as soon as I poured the wax in it. Any suggestions? Thanks!
@upvibecandle Жыл бұрын
The only sealant I have used on Hydrocal is ESF. With that said I would think Eco A would seal similarly as it's only effective on porous materials. However, if you no longer want to test that angel then try ESF. That worked well for me.
@liviaribeiro655 Жыл бұрын
@@upvibecandle Thank you for the response. I will try ESF and maybe I will give ECO A another try, but my first attempt did not work at all. What would you suggest as the process for sealing with ECO A? The first time I did it as suggested in your video, rolled in the product, wiped off and rolled again; waited 48 hours to put wax in it. There is a woman (forgot her name) that uses ECO A in her cement jars (she mentions you a lot) and she says to not wipe off, let it dry a few hours then do it again without wiping off. What do you think? Thanks!!
@upvibecandle Жыл бұрын
@@liviaribeiro655 That sounds like Bree from Calafia Candle Co. I would try rolling them in for a few minutes and then wiping the off. If you get too much EA on your concrete you might find it clumps together. Basically you can't over saturate it because of the nature of the sealant.
