Re: 8:21 sofa makeover: tthis is the exact "heartless" reason I never allow my dogs on the furniture or pick them up when they are puppies... it's so they won't learn to jump on furniture or on people especially when they're dirty. I'm all about getting down on the floor with them but I don't want them to learn they can jump my 4 1/2 ft fence out back. I don't want to pay for ruined clothing or dry cleaners or steam cleaners to come and fix damage. While I'm down on their level I capture behaviors giving them names, but not the regular formal training words. I don't want other people calling my dogs to them or telling my dogs what to do. The main reason I don't want my dogs to learn how to jump cuz I don't want them jumping in other people's cars. I want it to be a problem to get my dog in a car we're up in the back of someone's truck. The magic words are: To me, love. Then they crawl carefully to get up in a vehicle. They don't think they can get in a vehicle without the stair steps, and that's okay with me. My style of training I call it Mamadogging, is organic and just like a Mamadog bonds with her Young, I even mimic regurgitation to feed my young pups. It is crucial for bonding and it will even cause a sick dog that won't eat their regular food to eat again. Rescuers need to learn this. I rescued a 2-year-old skeletal Amstaff by putting her in my tub and giving her a normal saline drip and mimicking this regurgitation which just means that I chewed the food and pushed it from my mouth close to hers where she was laying so she could eat it. After everything I had struggled and tried when this idea popped into my head I was not completely sure it would work but she livened up like crazy she was all of a sudden interested and starving for the food that I let fall for my mouth but wouldn't touch anything else that I had offered her before. Sorry I digressed, my method is pretty much organic, think helicopter parent, I am doggin them all day long away from Bad behaviors and they learn that to really get my attention they need to be still and quiet cuz that's when they get the most loving. And I really don't have to be after them all the time telling them what to do because they have learned it and they can be off leash and not go more than 6 to 10 ft away from me. They're attached to me but they don't tear up the house from anxiety when I'm gone. My floor is strewn with pig ears ox bones bully bones cow hooves. Everything else is MINE. Even if it is in their mouth or if they're about to pick it up out on the sidewalk and I don't want them to have it because it's a dead bird or frog. I also don't let them chew on fluffy stuffed toys bound in cloth or wooden sticks because guess what? That's what furniture is made of. I don't get to choose or chewed furniture with this method of raising pups to mentally dogs.

Get married 1st. Don't have unprotected sex with someone you know you wouldn't marry. Because having a kid isn't enough. And don't have kids right away after you get married.
