19:43 if you wondering about those backflipped words, it's a cultural thing in malang Nick, it's read "Ayas Ngalam" which is "Saya Malang" or "I'm Malang" backflipped It called "Osob kiwalan" or "boso walikan" Javanese which roughly mean Backwards or backflipped language, it used by the combatant in Independence war in Malang, Because they afraid the Dutch send spy among the soldiers, and even if they speak Javanese the spy will easily understand them, so they used "Osob kiwalan" they speak Javanese but backwards when communicating with each other and of course people who understands it only the one that close to them and any outsiders will confused

Hey Nick.. I recommend while you're in the city of Malang, you can walk from Veteran street to Idjen street. You can see a lot of ex-Dutch residence. There is an Indonesian heroic funeral too in Veteran street. The big trees will cover you from sun ray. A nice place to walk there.

That car is a van which is typically a family car, so the authorities are appealing to your religious and familial sense of responsibility so that this mudik happens with as few accidents as possible. This kind of traffic accident happens typically on highways and big roads and risk factors typically include both vehicular failure (usually something's broken but goes unchecked before trip) and human error (too tired because it's a long trip). 5:25 I'm sure you've noticed underage kids riding motorbikes. Indonesia has a perpetual problem with unqualified drivers, and a lot of it has to do with parents' willingness to let small kids ride bikes without supervision and the general ease of just outright buying driver's license. The majority of people here doesn't take the driving test, either because you don't have time or competence for it or because of corruption and/or discrimination. In your next destination if someone asks you dari mana again, just say dari Malang. Then if they clarify you can tell them dari America.
