These guys create waves at Boise's whitewater park. Literally.

Green waves, wave holes and holes - there's something for everyone. Every day at noon, wave technician Paul Primus and Andrew Web, with Boise Parks and Recreation, change the shape of the wave at Boise River Park to accommodate surfers or kayakers and boogie boarders. Primus is a surfer and Webb a kayaker, so they bring their expertise to the high-tech world of waves.

The beach is an 8 hour drive dude, this wave is a 30 minute drive. Surfing is surfing no matter the wave size or body of water it takes place in ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Well you need a boat to wake surf, and those aren’t necessarily free, but this wave is. Also we live in Idaho, the nearest ocean is a good 8 hours away, so as long as this ‘wave’ is surfable Im going to go out and have fun on it, its only going to help me get better.
