These headphones are driving me nuts

I can't live without noise cancelling headphones. I recently purchased the Sony XM5, which are great, except for their tendency to get stuck in one of the paired devices. There is a way to fix this on their sluggish app, but the quickest solution is usually to reboot the device and the bluetooth connection on my phone.

if you can't resolve the connection problem try the Bose 700, I had those and loved them. Recently upgraded to the Airpods Max (amazing prices second hand these days) and they are just phenomenal and seamlessly switch between all Apple devices, the noise cancelling is also a step up above the rest, not to mention the sound quality.

Thanks for the tip! But the Sony were not precisely cheap and I can't return them. So I have to live with them :-S

@@josealcoy The Sony are a solid choice too - you may be able to return them because of the connection problem though? - at least in the UK, if the product develops a fault in the first few months, you normally get a full refund :)

@@DigiDriftZone I read online that it is a known problem, it only happens when paired to my computer, may have to use it with my phone only and get cable headphones for my computer 🙂

Hey! I also have a Sony noise-canceling headset. They are great to ensure a silent train commute ☺️ I’ve Experienced similar connection issues thouhh. I end up using the wire and plug them to my phone…

I few years back when I repaced the earpads by knock-offs I noticed the noise cancelling was less effective

i never had the connection problems you mentioned, i had them since a month after release

They get stuck to my Dell XPS15, when I am not home I don't have any problems

@josealcoy I see it must be due to it prioritizing the xp515 that's what it does sometimes you can lock it to the device u use on the app if that's what happens

I know, but with the Bose I could seamlessly switch from laptop to phone and the other way around, that's why it is so frustrating!

Yeah they can but they aren’t as good, sound quality is subpar, transparency mode is subpar as they don’t have the same amount of processors in it as headphones, the looks of them are mostly ugly especially airpods, and all the sound is directed one way as there is no way to escape or not enough padding to absorbed, let me explain. When you walk on the same spot of grass for years flattens and never comes back up naturally. With earbuds when you wear them that much all the sound is directed at your eardrum, the little hair cells eventually flatten by how much sound resulting in ear damage really quickly. With headphones there is a cushion which absorbs the sound c:
