Hello Streaky, I have the verum since one year and I use it a lot in my mixing work. It made me a large step in my way to listen and now I can work better than before. Yeah... I have both the LCD-X and the Verum 1 mkII (plus others) , and you are right, they are up there with the big boys + $1k headphones. The weight of the lcds doesn't bother me, so I would not take these over the X but they are a bit warmer and they have their place in my collection. Great headphones that hit way, way above their price point!

I've just sent my second pair of hifi man back due to QC (snapped headband after a few hours use ) and was looking at buying some used lcds which I should have done in the first place... but I think these are just the ticket !

Lol, it always happens right after I commit to buying something else! Just got my HiFiMan Sundaras last night and the upgrade from my old Shure 840s was eye popping. But the grass is always greener. Mixing still requires developing aural skills and $50,000 cans can’t buy that.

The moment you said you'd take them over the LCD-X's I stopped, went to the website and ordered a pair. I make drum 'n' bass and as you know, LCD-X is almost like a holy grail in that scenario. I have LCD-1's which are my best headphones yet, but they can be flipped for what I paid for the Verums....can't wait!

@@onetwo3088 I like them a lot, especially together with SMSL SH-8s amp and Goodhertz CanOpener (with about a dB hi boost and low cut in addition to crosstalk). But even without the extras, I much preferred them to the Audeze LCD-1, which I will probably sell now.

Also an absolute crazy thing about these is that they are actually 8 ohms. So these run out of anything (phone, laptop, etc.) and you don't have to buy like a 150-200 buck Amp to run them, like the LCD-Xs.

i have these and the upgrade from the hifiman 400SE's was actually illegal. Im not baiting I'm so glad I opted for these, definitely a huge price hike from the entry level hifimans but compared to the sundaras it isn't even close, so yeah can recommend.

@@wesleyleigh4063 yeah, the he400i look the part and sound OK but the rrp is ridiculously priced, They're worth the open box price I paid £100 maybe but then there's the shipping of around £50 which to say they came from the other side of Scotland is just ridiculous, it's just cost me £5 to send them back on rma as the headband snapped after a fortnight ... I'm guessing that's why hifiman are always in a huge perpetual sale, the her9 I have aren't planar and also priced ridiculously high, they are bass cannons but not leaps and bounds over some generic cans I have. I'm just worried about spending £££ on something just to find out they're still as mid as the he400i are.

When I tried the LCD-X I thought they were a bit shit. They offered me nothing better than my Hifiman Sundara, and they're about a quarter of the price. The Focal Clear MG on the other hand, I nearly spunked.
