Do you mix on headphones? What are your favorite mixing and recording headphones?

Monoprice M1070, same price range, bat better for the load, M107 is 60 Ohm while Verum iS only 1 Ohm !!! The impedance of headphone amplifier must be less tha 1/8 of the headphones one. Probably this rule is less important for a magnetoplanar design than a dynamic one, anyawy 1 Ohm is really very low ! :-)

@@erkamau9629 Verum 1 is 8 ohm and very sensitive. So it's an easy load.

@@erkamau9629 For verum 1 you just need an amp with output impedance less than 1ohm. Chord Mojo has output impedance of 0.75 ohms and drives the verums good. More than enough power, and sounds fantastic.

I ordered a set of these after I saw this video. They took 5 months to get here (Australia), but it was worth the wait. They are fantastic. Not only do they sound great, they look like a work of art. I'm so happy with them I've ordered another pair. I'm very proud to have them in my studio.

@@relaxwithastra5966 Yep I finally got them. Igor shipped them 1/03/23 after emailing him with my receipt. He said one of his computers had been destroyed and my order got lost but he had them shipped within a couple days after he emailed me back. Understandable. Snail mail definitely deserves the description from Ukraine to the middle of the U.S. lol

Hi Chris, now that you have also tested the Audeze MM-500, can this still be compared to the Verum or is the MM-500 just a level higher (for mixing, specially bottom end)?

Hi Chris! I‘m just starting to produce my own music (though I‘m already 45, but for that and music in general it‘s never too late I guess 😉) and your courses and videos are extremely helpful. THANKS FOR THAT! And as it is, while mixing I struggle to find the right balance for all the tracks and instruments. I know, there are several issues to take care of, but I think that at least to a small account this problem is due to poor quality monitors/speakers and headphones. Once I do a mixdown and listen to my song e.g. in my car, I suddenly realize that the bass is to loud or the synths too quiet, although I thought (and heard) them well balanced before. So: YES, a comparison video would be great! As I‘m into metal music, a defined low end (kick and bass) and expressive mids (guitars) would be great. Greets from Germany 🙋🏼‍♂️🤘🏻

Allow me to say that it is never too late to record music. Music is art. Are you too old to paint or sculpt? Of course not, age does not define art. That said; push forward and let your creative side be heard. Your children and many generations after will cherish your work. Who knows, you may write the next big hit 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, the Austrian Audio Hi-X 65 are great mixing headphones. I also use them on a regular basis

this is the best buy. I had the Audeze LSD 2 and after buying these I sold the Audeze. Audezes are not comfortable, big, heavy, and too little bass for my taste. I recommend it to everyone Verum!

Sorry for the crap English, I'm a French guys. Usually I use dt-770, but it lacks a little bit of low end. My son has a dt990 pro for gaming, I've tried them, low end are great but (this is just my humble point of view) dt-990 are for me a little bit aggressive as far as high mid are concerned. The one I like also is the beyerdynamic aventho, very impressive, perhaps a little bit too much of low end, but I find them very flat. I use them with the wire, not Bluetooth, very well made and I used them every day to listen to music on my smartphone so I know the pros and the cons of these headphones but they sound really good.

I use the Ollo Audio S4X open back headphones for mixing and mastering. They are handmade in Slovenia from sustainable materials and packaging. I've found them to be very detailed with an unhyped, flat response and quite comfortable to wear. I previously used the Sony MDR-7506 headphones with Sonarworks Reference correction software. The beauty of the Ollo headphones is that they sound so good I no longer need EQ correction and can use them as a trusted reference monitoring solution in any studio or environment that I work in. I've also found Ollo customer service to be excellent.
