Liara, (Dr, Shadow Broker) to Geth: _"How did we miss this?! [...] Exactly. The council will be furious. Although - they should know by now not to underestimate human defiance."_ This fits into the theory I posted after the previous trailer pictures: ME 4 plays between ME 1 and ME2 in the period where Legion, Liara and the Shadow Broker (on behalf on the Collectors) were simultaneously searching for the corpse of Cmdr Shepard. Liara found Shepard's corpse and handed it to Cerberus in the hope Cerberus would resurrect Shepard (in Project Lazarus). In ME2 and ME3 Liara tells Shepard this and that Cerberus helped Liara to find Shepard's corpse. Cerberus (which loves to claim to represent human interests at all costs) has always been defying the Council. After Liara took the corpse, Legion found the site of Shepard's corpse and could only retrieve a piece of Shepard's shoulder armor, which he shows to Shepard in ME2. This audio clip suggests that Liara cooperated with the Geth in finding Shepard's corpse or was at least in discussion with the Geth about handing Shepard's corpse to Cerberus for resurrection.

Although by now they should know by now not to underestimate human defiance". So it could mean, for example, that an enemy is attacking humanity, which makes the council furious, but human defiance might surprise the council. What we really would need the know is what the geth is saying to better be able to extrapolate what they are talking about.

Seems like Council could be mad that humanity is first one to construct a mass relay or controlling it without their supervision. Still hope Shepard is alive in some form but a new protagonist could be good as well.

People should let go of Shepard. Their story was told and, even though Shepard is a god damn great protagonist, they deserved their peace and quiet. Plus, at least in my opinion, Bioware build up from the very start that Shepard will die at the end of this war for the right to live. Perhaps some sort of easter eggs or other similar stuff, that would be great.

Also I think (not related to the thread), if they decided to continue the Shepard`s story, then the Red ending is effectively canon, due to the dead reapers, although they can just be the reapers that were destroyed during the war...

But I also think that there is much more to gain from Shepard not being alive, the crew still grasping that the person that tied them all together is gone and how they, perhaps, just drift away doing their own stuff. Also, I think it`s kinda cheese to have Shepard "survive" two deaths.

@N7 Andy What "retcon trickery"? Some Quarians and/or Liara decided the Geth deserved to live and started repairing them. There, Geth are back in destroy. We have seen _Ships_ fly in the outro scenes. Destruction was not all ships and technology.

The Destroy ending still makes the most sense to me. It was Shepard’s and everyone’s goal through the entire trilogy. Until of course the final decision. I also believe the Geth in this game are from another Galaxy not too far from the Milky Way. When all communication stopped they came looking for answers.

If there is a faction of the geth that went to dark space, then they could have survived the destruction. And maybe they also achieved true intelligence because the code was distributed to every geth, even the extragalactic ones.

@N7 Andy If computer systems aren't destroyed and the geth are heavily networked, then their lower subroutines and memory banks won't be affected. This means there could be simpler runtimes in an off site server that can start restore the AI systems, even if the AI themselves will be new, so it could make sense in the Milky Way, too. Not sure what the quarians would do after the destroy ending if the servers are intact and the computing infrastructure are still around, but they might be reluctant to restore the geth themselves.

I have the feeling that this Ship/Mass Relay is something constructed by Cerberus because of the color scheme of the lettering on the construct. The Earth Alliance uses blue in their signs and logos whereas Cerberus uses, predominantly, orange.

Yes, this is what I imagined too. The info there does hint a lot about top-notch security measures over the construction site (Deepspace Dhow SAV, a corporation?) and "Green Dagger". I imagine a lot of military/mercenary forces guarding it, so it would make sense to have ships standing as watch towers with live feeds on the site.

I read somewhere that Mark was recently hired for "voice work" for a bioware game. I wish I'd saved the link so it could be checked out. Also, the MR7 (possibly Mass Relay 7) is painted in Cerberus colors, which would make sense if a SA (Systems Alliance) ship was stealthily watching them.

You know, not everything painted in yellow/orange means it's from Cerberus 😅 Very likely to be purely cosmetic. Also, the Illusive Men turned so many of his soldiers into something like husks, and probably wasted most of his resources into what he did in me 3, so we should expect a not so big and isolated organization, if they're still around.

Mark and Jennifer mentioned in the N7 day stream that they are working on a project together atm where they get to voice different characters and interact, so they're not currently playing the male and female versions of the same character. Don't forget that BioWare are currently focused on the Dragon Age game Dreadwolf.

I would be extremely surprised if any of the voice actors - including Ali Hillis - had started working on the game this early into development (which is still in pre-prod). I work as a QA in a AAA game company and we just began production. Right now, we still use robo-voices or the voices of volunteer devs. Mind you, different companies can have different processes and BioWare won't have to go through casting for the returning characters, unlike us with our new IP. That being said, I'm sure the writing of the game will have many changes during production, as content gets cut, added or extended. Ideally, you would wait until large chunks of your game looks complete before bringing in your actors. Otherwise, you would waste a lot of money on recordings that won't end up being used.

as i said on another video about this, i wonder if the human defiance is the integration of AI with the human mind. Cause the whole backstory of the Pathfinders in Andromeda is that the Alliance denied Ryder's idea of just that but then the Andromeda Initiative, A.I. cough cough, allowed him to go through with it. maybe this has something to do with the possible bridge to bring the games together.

Indeed, Liara was heavily involved in selling into to Ryder when it came to AI technology. Also, the groundwork for Ryder's project would still be around in the Milky Way in some form, and it would totally be possible to build another SAM that way, especially now you have Reaper tech lying around. I do wonder what ending is canon in this case.

@@TheOz91 I always thought that Andromeda and SAM specifically was a hint at the synthesis ending, it's essentially the same thing - Organic and AI within the same body, SAM allows Ryder to communicate with Synthetics/Technology in general and Ryder allows SAM to feel and understand things how an organic would. Now it does look like the destroy ending is canon but I can see them bringing some form of synthesis back into the story through the Andromeda blueprints.

I think it is the worst option. It's shameless pandering and creatively bankrupt. Legendary Edition or not this game won't be out for another 3-5 years. By then a vast majority of the playerbase will be totally new to the franchise. Having one or two familiar faces on the team is one thing, you don't want to give new fans too much homework, so it's easier for everyone if most characters are completely new.

There’s a lot of spite behind Liara’s “human defiance” that makes me think she’s against whatever the humans are doing against the Council. At least we know the Council’s coming back, in some way, I always wondered if they were evacuated or something. I am confident (and excited) that Commander Shepard will return with the game being set in ‘90 (2190 seems most likely), with Liara talking about human defiance and the N7 insignia in the CGI teaser. Overall, I’m hyped.

I hear it too. Well technically I hear a conversation with Shepard and Liara. Shepard: "I (see it) (Concede) How could we miss this....." and then Liara's response and then Shepard responding and then a lot of Geth noise in the background. I have heard people say it's Glyph also but the cadence doesn't sound like Glyph. It sounds like Hale's voice, and a very pissy Shepard voice in the background.

It sounds like Jen Hale's Femshep at the beginning and end of Liara's statement. But they try and hide it with Geth distortion. I wonder if Shepard isn't talking to Liara from behind Geth lines and has discovered something Cerberus or another rogue human faction has done or constructed...thus explaining the Geth interference, Shepard's pissed off voice and Liara's statement. I believe Jen Hale said she does have some projects in the works but didn't elaborate. Mark Meers' lack of input may be because he hasn't been contacted by Bioware yet because all you hear so far is Hale's voice in the teaser. It is still early on in the development. Add to that both actors have adamantly said they would return Bioware is probably sure they can wait as late as possible to book them because the actors would make sure they fit Mass Effect into their schedules. That's just my two cents...

Ok heres my new full theory: After the Reaper destruction the surviving species create a new council and agree not to use reaper based technology (that includes Mass Relays). However Humanity decides to build new relays and that gets them on the bad side of the Council. Liara could be contacting Geth as they would be the next best thing to an expert on Reaper tech after Cerberus (who i think took over Earth by using Shepard's name to convince people that this wouldnt have happened if the other races listened to Shepard). In this theory Humanity IS the new bad guy and Liara along with few friends will probably try to stop another major war. The Council like always is the ignorrant side

In the early days of ME:A trailers showed the construction of the arks. I think this is a relay ark being sent to Andromeda (5 years after the main arks) to open a trade route and get help rebuilding the milky way.

On the second concept art there are familiar buildings in the background. But I doubt that they are buildings from Illium. They look more like the Shroud from Tuchanka I think. I can be really wrong here, but that would also explain the breathing masks the Turian and Salarian are wearing. The main purpose of the Shroud was to clean the atmosphere of Tuchanka, so that would make sense I guess?

My theory is the plot is about AI. We know Alec Ryder and Liara were in contact. Building a sentient AI, which the council is very against, was central to Andromeda. It would make a lot of sense if the connection between Andromeda and Milky Way is related to humans building sentient AI in defiance of the council.

I wonder what exactly does the destroy ending destroy, however. It destroys all synthetic life but computers don't seem to be affected, so "backup" AI may not even be affected. Does it affect "blue boxes" directly or just any AI that has achieved true intelligence?

Otherwise, you would literally send everybody back to the stone age because you would destroy every computer system and so many things rely on VI systems to operate.

The ship information is for the surveillance. The mass relay could also be a space station. They always looked like they could house people. What if, like the Citadel, they had Keepers on them to keep them up and running if something happened. Now the Keepers are rebuilding the mass relays. Cerberus figured it out, and took over one. Systems Alliance is doing surveillance, and the ship has a Human - Quarian name. I think the Geth voice is Feron on the Shadowbroker ship speaking with Liara. If the part about hearing something about finding a weapon is correct... people speak in code all the time in case the message is intercepted. Never underestimate human defiance. Who is the most defiant human we know - defying death itself, and who is the ultimate weapon, hidden under rubble? Commander Shepard.

Regarding ship with a Mass Relay. We all know that interstellar travel is slow, unless you use a relay. After destroy ending restored relays most likely are very few and far between(if any at all). And because of that I think it makes perfect sense to build from some of the salvaged relays a full blown relay spaceship(s) and use it(them) to move fleets to places in the galaxy without relays or where relays are destroyed. Because, what the point of sending ship, using a relay, if upon reaching destination you see other destroyed relay and now you cant return back without wasting years or fixing the damn thing. So, i see mobile relay as an awesome and logical thing in current "galactic post-apocalyptic" setting.

@@cookiemuffin3208 Before the ship was destroyed, they loaded as much tech as they could from it before running it into the Cerberus cruiser. During the Lair of the Shadowbroker DLC, we hear the original Shadowbroker, and he sounds very different than what he does in person. I think that part of the tech they have would be capable of transmitting a communication that sounds like the Geth sound that we are hearing. Also, the ship's communications board allowed for Liara to get messages from anyone, anywhere. So it would be possible for Feron to patch a message from the Geth to her while he was on board another ship. Remember, she has unlimited resources, and he has unlimited time. They worked together in the past to locate Shepard. They're close friends, and she trusts him. It was just a thought I had. It doesn't have to be the original ship, but they definitely saved a lot of tech. Liara uses it on board the Normandy, but I am willing to bet that she had more that Feron kept, too. Even if he didn't, what Liara had was more than enough, and it survived because the Normandy survived.

However, what makes more sense - repurposing an existing mass relay into a space station, or, in the middle of world rebuilding, suddenly finding the tech to turn said mass relay into a spacefaring vehicle? It's a stationary object, and nobody really even knows how it works. Now they would have to figure out how to create the propulsion of that object, along with getting it working again vs just using it as a base while Keepers already onboard are repairing it. FTL is already hard enough to achieve. Imagine creating FTL for an object that massive. I don't see it happening, and it can't be the jump site for itself. Space magic still has to follow some physics logic. That's why Mass Effect worked - because it was plausible space magic. The theory behind it worked, if we could get something to achieve it, we could do it. We could forgive some of the things because eezo isn't real, so there was an extra ingredient that made everything possible. Even eezo wouldn't fix those issues, though. A wormhole would be needed, and at that point, you may as well just have a regular ship. Much more efficient and stealthy. Mass relays are the size of the Citadel. Look at the size of the Normandy next to one when you do a jump.

@@jenx5870 You think you need to have full knowledge of how relay works to make a space ship out of it? Figure out most important parts. Take them and put into custom build giant ship. You dont need to rebuild relay from 0, just fix what was damaged and put it into a new shell. Thats it. And no, Mass Relays are not the size of Citadel. There are multiple shots and art where you can compare it to other ships. Mass Relay is far smaller than Citadel. Citadel is its self a gigantic more powerfull Mass Relay turned into a habitable station. ME 1 expains that.

Obviously all speculation but yes... I think Liara might be talking to the Geth regarding Cerberus making a Mass Relay (ship?) and how the council would react to such news. Although since Cerberus is a pro-human group, I would doubt a quarian (Soa'Rhal found in the bottom text) would be a sub-navarch and commanding the relay. (Unless Soa'Rhal is still the name of a human, like a spouse or an adopted child of a quarian-human couple. But I doubt any high members of Cerberus would want to hold onto ties of alien family members.) Going from the text, I believe the 'footage' to be coming from a monitoring station that was _deployed_ by a ship that was either tasked by Soa'Rhal Zhillian-Jones, or under their command. (Perhaps the ship that appears on screen flying towards the relay is the same one that deployed the station that captured the footage? Could be the Normandy or the SFX ship tasked with deploying the monitoring station while they begin their mission.) The blog post also said the footage was from 'known' space. If Soa'Rhal is in fact a quarian, I would think this footage of the Satherium System is somewhere out in the Perseus Veil. Which would make sense since it's on the outer rim of the galaxy where it would make a better placement of a relay if it was pointed towards Andromeda. (Also there would be more Geth. They could've been the ones to intercept this footage and bring it to Liara.)

it is possible that they will link the galaxies without the 600 year gap. It is believed that time passes more slowly in the gravity well of a black hole, so it could be argued that time passes faster when you leave the gravity well of a galaxy. This would mean that the 600 years on the Arc at FTL speeds, was how time would be experienced in an Arc, but that very little time would pass in the galaxies themselves.

1. The text is talking about whatever ship obtained this surveillance footage, not the relay in the footage itself. 2. There's a distortion of something large flying by that is cloaked. Not even the reapers had cloaking technology for something as large as a ship. Maybe Leviathans? 3. Those towers in the concept art look like the shroud on Tuchanka, how has nobody noticed this yet? My guess is a Turian controlled planet we haven't seen yet. 4. It's not a geth talking to Liara. They have universal access to language and always speak in a language the listener can understand. She's more than likely talking to a contact of hers, and they are hiding their identity. Liara probably has a program that translates the hidden speech. Benefactor maybe? 5. Definitely 2190, all the ships and the relay itself look just like initiative designs. Those would not stay the same 100+ years later. 6. The only way they would have the resources to build a relay is if they already fixed the mass relays. Earth was largely destroyed and in chaos at the end of ME3. They would be stuck with millions of members of other species as well in the Sol system that would need help. Imagine the whole Quarian flotilla stuck above earth with barely any sources for fuel. They had to repair them quickly to have a chance at survival. This is definitely a new relay for who knows what. Maybe to follow the initiative to Andromeda? They seem to be involved in its design, which would also hint at the benefactor being involved.

And after possibly losing earth after mass effect 3 being the final straw as humans got almost zero praise for all they've done throughout the games (at least with paragon sheperd). So, maybe many humans turned and rebelled against the original counsel and all other species for being almost sheepishly grateful even after the humans saving the council in turn losing their main fleet (5th fleet) in mass effect 1. and the humans stopping the collectors from consuming every on in the milky way in mass effect 2, and humans sacrificing just about their entire home world and species for the sake of the entire galaxy as well as uniting every alien species they could including enemies. (that's just naming some of the big ones of what humans have done for everyone else in the whole galaxy). so maybe somewhat brain-washed humans (similar to cerberus in mass effect 3) as the or one of the main enemies in mass effect 4? With humans having easily the largest intelligent organic population in the galaxy (enough to where the council even considering finding a way to slow down or even stop from humans giving birth to increase their size) with earth alone at one point having more population than all of the other species. humans would be a large and dangerous force to reckoned with as they are all over the entire galaxy unlike the other alien species and are a brash and aggressive species as liara says to sheperd. or someone could be rebuilding the reapers or some catastrophic reason like cerberus or the geth (it could be the good or bad geth or both) it could also be both cerberus and the geth whether working together or apart. or the humans could be trying to rebuild them as they could be some kind of enemy in the next game. I could easily imagine an epic sequence to where sheperd and his/her squad could be standing in front of a partially rebuilt reaper in an early game mission to uncover a secret project and sheperd saying after he uncovers a huge tarp covering it, Oh my god, it's a reaper. somebody's rebuilding it. and after that sheperd enters a hidden doorway leading to several more and says, it's not just the one, but a whole army of them. thus bringing the reapers back as an enemy, or sheperd fighting an enemy trying to bring them back. maybe it's just that sheperds crew/ship going rogue again but in a more in-depth/important scale. possibly because they were ordered to give up the search for sheperd and they can't just let it be a mystery of if he died or not (especially in the best ending where sheperd lives). in which the crew may be in denial or because they almost know for certain that he may have survived after the crew found out about how he came back in mass effect 2, especially with whoever you bring in the mass effect 3 mission - Infiltrating Cerberus Headquarters - where you find out how he came back after mass effect 1.

If Liara is speaking with a Geth then the destroy ending is not the cannon ending. The Geth are wiped out in the destroy ending along with EDI.

I feel like the whole “Mass relays having a captain” thing could also be about preventing similar conflicts that happened before (geth, sovereign, collectors and reapers). So these new mass relays would operate like a border patrol so to speak, where ships and vessels can’t just use a relay whenever they want and go wherever unauthorized, rather they’d have to get authorization from the captain to pass through (I could be wrong about the whole using a relay without authorization thing tho, my memory of ME lore is a bit rusty) just my two cents

(This is long, sorry, everyone can ignore!) . Human Defiance could also be a reference to Andromeda and how a human was important there to. Considering that Liara was connected to Andromeda, even if in a minor way in that game. Maybe she got information that humanity - and other races - survived in Andromeda. That being said, the time (600 years) would be a issue. That being said again, an Asari would be alive. But that would break the date in the video. In any case, this is just a possible theory. In other aspects, the presence of a geth is interesting. First, if peace exists between Quarians and Geths - which is most likely, since the name seem to indicate a Quarian, meaning both species are alive - the Geth collective would know about Sheppard and would be willing to help someone connected to the Commander, like Liara. It could also explain the Quarian-Human name. Tali says, when peace is reached, that the Geth were helping the Quarians adapt to a environment without the suits. They could have "re-evolved" their imune system in a short period like this, allowing for cross-spicies offspring. (That, or Quarians are taking the name of human ships now, who knows!) As for the Geth surviving the destroy ending... Well.... To be honest, from all the synthetics in the ME universe, Geth could easily be rebuild. The Quarians are alive, they can do it again, and Geth can build new Geth. So long they can remember what happened before, they would still be the same Geth, just 2.0. Someone may have a backup disk or something... Lastly, it may be a Quarian-focused game. Andromeda seemed to be going in this direction when it ended, maybe the idea remains. Also, from all the species, Quarians were already in need to rebuild their whole existence, even without the Reapers. While the galaxy would need to adapt, Quarians would already be ready. (Could be my bias, but the ship in the art do resemble a Quarian ship, with a circular opening. Like a mix in designs)

5:40 those beams look exactly like the beam that was in London at the end of Mass Effect 3 where in the destroy ending, London is rebuilt and add a gateway to the citadel using those beams which are reaper tech btw. And if you forgot, the Citadel was destroyed at the end of ME3 and was rebuilt with a lot of holes still being prevalent in its hull, my theory is is that this takes place years after ME3 with Liara being in the Matriarch stage of her life since she was over 106 years old in ME1, 108 in ME2 and 108-109 in ME3 and since she CAN be romanced that means that she could be either 170 years old, 300 years old or at most 700 or anything between 170 and 700. I think her being anywhere more than 178 years old is highly unlikely but it might be possible. But since it took over 600 years for the Andromeda Initiative to get to Andromeda she actually could be 700 or more, seeing as how what appears to be Ryder and the crew appear in many promos

Shepard has a lot more story to tell idk why people feel like things can't go further. 40k, Halo, Star Wars etc have a lot of long running characters that get a more expansive lore to them. Shepard has done the impossible and united a galaxy that has put forth galactic leaders on the spot by a human choice. With Cerberus war crimes, the attack on the citadel and how many humans have been screwed over by the galaxy when you take off the shepard "suit" story lens. Well lets just say humanity is going to be in a bad spot imo and Shepard has to do the impossible once more. Plus the Leviathans have a favor proxy of Shepard os getting rid of their interest in Shepard is pretty dumb imo.

One thing I’ve long suspected about the Destroy ending is that the Geth don’t really all die- they’re safe if they fall back to the rendezvous point mentioned by Hackett. If this wasn’t some sort of safe zone, EVERY single fleet is wiped out- Quarians face a mass death especially. Planets are devastated by ship debris falling to the ground If the crucible truly doesn’t discriminate, then that would also mean control ending has Shep assuming direct control of Geth. Star Brat prolly lying somewhere in there They could just be pulling a GoW move and saying “it didn’t kill them, just turned them off” as far as destroy goes, but X to doubt.

Thank you for the great video! I think the date 11_7_90 is there to once more confuse us? Many fans would like to see Shepard. I hear everyone say 11-07-90 date and theory craft it's 11_07_2190. But what if it's 11_07_2790 or 11_07_2390? If it's for example 2890 year, It would give the time for Andromeda colonists to reach the new galaxy and Milky Way to rebuild. From what we saw in the original trilogy, and how hard Reapers hit, I don't think any species would be able to build a SHIP like in the teaser, only 4 years later. Most likely, 4 years after the war, many ppl were starving, and if Shepard chooses destruction ending, ALL cybernetic is destroyed. Meaning, I think it would take them way more than 4 years to be able to even start manufacturing the basic population demands. Also, Liara looking older in the previus trailer would make more sense if it's hundreds of years after the Reaper war. I like your theory of linking Andromeda and the Milky Way somehow. That would be an epic new galaxy!

Great video! Regarding the rebreathers - if this is taking place closely after the Reaper Wars, then the ecological devastation may be why the atmosphere of Thessia/Illium requires rebreathers. Regarding the text and if the Quarian captain is for the MR7 - if you read the text left to right, it says "Monitoring Station operated by ... / Ship captain." To me, that indicates that Soa'Rhal is probably part of the monitoring station, as opposed to part of MR7.

Cerberus might be in the game for two reasons. 1 it could be like with German and Japanese holdouts during and after ww2. That's despite the illusive man being dead the base destroyed, Kai Lang dead and them spending billions on failed projects. This could be thier resurgence quietly coming back offering to help human rebuild. Theory 2 like with re7 Cerberus could be coming back buy as a enitiy for good. For humans and aliens there were good people who joined up in Cerberus miranda, Jacob, Bryn etc. But were used or though they were helping. The choices of the protagonist of the ME4 could lead to how the new relay will be used. But that's all based off nothing except a story idea I just made up :P

The artwork with the Turian, Salarian and Krogan seems to be on Thesia. The architecture is practically 1:1, but with what is most likely Reaper tech implemented into it. But, a theory I've had since the initial trailer and the Geth face poster might just have us *starting* in the Milky Way. We know that Andromeda is a topic, it's where the camera is focused in the first trailer before panning into the Milky Way, where we then hear several bits and pieces of a time before Humans even knew of the Council races, and the First Contact War - that last thing being crucial for context. We know that the Arks leave for Andromeda in 2185, not long before the Reaper War, and will travel for 634 years until they finally arrive in the Heleus Cluster in 2820. Considering Liara's involvement in whatever is to come, she would be roughly 111 when the new rebuilding footage is recorded and about 740 when the Initiative reaches Heleus, putting her 40 years into her Matriarch stage. We know that Reaper tech allowed for the Reapers to travel about twice as fast as the fastest council race ships, so where we were capable of hitting 15ly a day, they could reach 30ly in a day. If the Destroy ending is not only canon, but altered to allow for Geth and other synthetic life like Edi to continue to exist, there is a crazy amount of potential gain for the Milky Way races. Imagine our advancements with Reaper and Geth tech in a post Reaper War Milk Way with the help of not only reuniting council races, but Geth intelligence, too. Imagine what we could accomplish... So, flipping to a distant future in Andromeda, we learn of a mysterious race called the Jardaan that entered into the Heleus Cluster *during* the 634 years the Arks were traveling, and in that time both created and planted the Angara, built terraforming structures on all of the planets we listed a Golden Worlds as one of their primary objectives, were attacked with the Scourge which was used by 'The Opposition', built Remnant defenses and then dipped out entirely. The Remnant were set up to defend between 2400-2500, so a couple centuries before the Arks arrive. Last biggest detail is that Remnant tech and the terminals we so frequently have to interact with all react to Ryder's touch, or specifically, a human's touch. Also worth noting as far as ME:A plot goes, we find recordings of a pre-launch, pre-war Benefactor that could very easily be the Illusive Man laying the groundwork for a post-Reaper society of Milky Way species in Andromeda. By the time Shep fights Sovereign, this Benefactor was already sure of the Reaper invasion and the threat it would bring, thus funding the Initiative. But what if just getting to Andromeda and preserving humans, well as some other races, wasn't the only goal? Cerberus does love to tinker with genetics, after all... Of course, this could go any number of directions, but only if Bioware plans to act on it at all. So, here is my theory... The council is going to be upset, Humans are up to some shit again, we're rebuilding Mass Relays and Geth are active somehow... What if Humans, using what appears to potentially be a Mass Relay AND a ship as one, take a bunch of Reaper tech and leave the Milky Way? What if, with significantly more advanced tech, they reach Andromeda in a few decades rather than centuries and begin this massive project to terraform the Golden Worlds so that when the Arks arrive with even more people, they have a much easier time establishing colonies and expanding? What if, not long after arriving, the humans find another species that is comparably primitive on the planet called Havarl? Imagine this is where the context of 'The First Contact War" comes into play. We arrive and they don't approve of us taking all these Golden Worlds. At some point, we even took their DNA and made the Angara. So, referred to now only as 'The Opposition', they attack the humans with a special weapon, detonating it and creating the Scourge. It causes devastating damage that not only drives the humans out of Heleus (but not before leaving the Remnant defenses at the terraforming facilities), but it also causes irreparable damage to their own civilization. It plunges the Angara into a century long dark age where they essentially lose almost all evidence and record of their origins. The 'Opposition', however much of it is left, either leave as well because of the danger posed by the Scourge and/or give chase to the humans that fled. Now all that remains are the Angara, a species only a few centuries old trying to find their origins - technology from a long fled species that came to Heleus several centuries before the Arks arrival with the sole purpose of terraforming the Golden Worlds - and the very recently arrived Kett (a scout group of sorts for a much larger civilization elsewhere in Andromeda), who become fascinated with the Remnant tech and plot to absorb the Angara into themselves as they seem to do with all life. Then came the Arks to find it all and get caught in the conflict started by the Kett. It's not even that much of a longshot given how vague some of the details are in ME:A regarding the origins and the timeline of the Jardaan and how the Angara came to be. It'd all fix within a 500-600 year window, so what if Humans really do find a way to get to Andromeda in only a couple decades, beating the Arks by hundreds of years? And how would the Council react to such things? I mean, they're always a little pissy when it comes to humans, but still. Maybe the next game won't just be following Liara as the Milky Way is reconnected and made whole again, but also following her as she unravels a plot to take Andromeda even sooner than the Initiative planned before the Reaper War. All just a theory, but I feel it's a possibility.

The relay ship is definitely being constructed by the Cerberus. It's in their signature colors, white orange and black, same marking style too, the font for "MR 7" as well, the same one they use. Also Cerberus doesn't have to be an antagonist. The illusive man is gone, so they could be back to their "shady but passable" vibe from ME 2 or even become a downright good-guy faction, who knows

It'll be quite hard to fit them in if the story is indeed only 4 years after the Reaper war. Remember that the Andromeda Initiative spent hundreds of years in cryo during their journey so they would be nowhere near Andromeda itself atm. You did just give me a weird thought though, imagine if everything that happened in Andromeda was caused by the Milky Way races using their new Mass Relays to get there first; hundreds of years of advancement and eventual war amongst themselves ends with the Remnant, Angara and the Scourge being created and that is what we find in ME: Andromeda - the Jardaan could've been any of the Milky Way races.

Even if it means 2290, then how come is Liara seen as much older when she climbs that Reaper-like structure covered by snow? And we all know that Liara is a young Asari in the trilogy (about 100 years old, right), and that she can be expected to live about 1000 years, which then conveniently makes it possible for her to do the 600-year journey to Andromeda? Is it just a bait from the Bioware team to throw us off tracks then? Or, maybe everything mentioned above is true, and we might see a two-part game, with the first one being centered around the fallout of the destruction of the Reapers in the Milky Way, and then catching up to the events in Andromeda through Liara? WAIT, I just thought about something: what if we would play as Liara all along? After all, she's a biotic, now an experienced fighter, a doctor, the damn SHADOW BROKER, and also "[REDACTED]"?? Seems like she's definitely enough of a badass for me to want to play as her (or maybe not for the entire game, just for a part of it👀?)

The whole Mass Effect series is a story of Human defiance. Activate relays and immediately get into a brawl with the Turians, beat the ever loving snot out the Batarians, get a human spectre in like 3 decades of integrating into the galaxy, wipeout the collectors then beat the Reapers. And that's just main plot points. Wouldn't surprise me if humanity is building relays at all

The only problem I have with the date of 2190 is the prior video showing Liara wiping part of Shepherds gear shows her having wrinkles. Don't think she would have aged that much in only 4 years. Maybe 104 years??? (Maybe Solar would not have changed its logo in that time.)

I like never do comments, but I've been enjoying your videos since getting into MELE for the first time earlier this year. A few things to note: 1/ the Reaper War actually began in earnest during the events of ME3 circa October 2186, and depending on how you timeline the game events, you're still looking at November-December 2186 being an endgame at the earliest, with it venturing into early 2187 a distinct possibility. From a timeline perspective, 2190 would be three-ish years in the future, not four. 2/ Have you seen the twitter interactions between Jess Campbell and Scott Ryder's VA, Tom Taylorson? They're not explicit, but they do seem to indicate that Tom may be involved somehow. He seemed very hopeful in his N7 Day post this year. 3/ It of course goes without saying that 11_07_90 doesn't inherently mean 2190, and I think the Devs are leaving that very deliberately open-ended and for good reason. Like you said, they're clearly not willing to abandon the MEA storyline, that still clearly matters to them, and I'm hopeful that they can develop a way to bridge the OT and MEA. 4/ I've been wondering a lot about the Scourge and its implications in a Dark Energy Plot 2.0 and the accelerated entropy of the universe, especially with the idea that rampant and aberrant dark energy could speed along a timeline for the AI arriving into the Heleus cluster, and potentially putting them at arriving prior to the established arrival date of 2818. Not time travel, per se, but time distortion, in the way that biotics can do it on a smaller scale.

Just going to mention that the stealth tech the SV frigates like the Normandy 1/2 used is not optical camouflage. It wouldn't defeat an actual camera with video feed based on visual light.

about the "we have yet to see alive reapers and we only see dead ones" i'm what thinking is: the only ending where reapers are dead is the destruction ending but the destruction ending is also the only ending where Shepard can actually survive if you meet the requirements. so the lack of alive reapers we see could mean mass effect 4 continues after the "true ending" where reapers die but shepard is alive

You bring the audio into Audcity twice, use the effect "Invert" on one of the tracks, and then phase it (move it sideways) using the clicks in the audio as a guide. It's very precise but quite simple once you've figured out how to do it. Zoom in to make it easier to match up the soundwaves of the clicks. Hope that helps!

@@BuntM4gnet Mark one of the tracks, go to the menu and click Effects > Invert. This flips the track upside down and cancels the audio out. If you play it in this state, both tracks will appear silent. Next step is to move one of the tracks sideways (F5 to pick the tool, then just click and drag). Look closely at the soundwave of the track (zooming in helps) and match up the clicks of the audio (the tallest spikes in the soundwave). This step is very precise and may take som patience, but you'll hear Liara speak when you've got them in the right position. :)

Couple of things: 1. The mass relay definitely mimics Cerberus design/color/even typography; seems rather likely that Liara is referring to a Cerberus faction (humans) defying the will of the council by hiding this reconstruction of a mass relay. Maybe this relay is supposed to be a relay to dark space to see if there is any reaper technology or information there that they can take advantage of? Since that was the goal of the Illusive Man at the end of ME3. 2. There have been lots of indication that this next game will be following the after effects of the Destroy decision; as evidenced by the dead reaper we saw in the first teaser and no mention of reapers in the most recent materials. What is interesting about that is that if this is indeed after the Destroy decision, then how did the Geth that Liara is speaking to survive? And if the Geth found a way to survive, then it seems pretty likely that some Reapers would have found a way to survive as well. There's so much to uncover and understand. Super excited for this game!

the under construction relay we see has black and orange strips, a color pallet used solely by Cerberus, whish would indicate that cerberus is responsible for the construction of the relay. also, the lack of not-dead ripper would indicate that this game takes place in the timeline were the destroy ending was chosen, and potentially, were Shepard is still alive. based on that, and the fact that it's extremely unlikely that Liara is with the bad guys, I would paint this scenario : -Cerberus is using reaper tech (again) to fulfill there evil goal, whish involves mass relays. -if the game does take place after the destroy ending, the Geths somehow survived, despite being AIs, also, they are probably with the good guys, at least partially. (maybe there is some classic endoctrinement going on from Cerberus that allows them to control the Geth, like in ME2.) considering the amount of differences that trying to build a different plot for every ending would make, it's likely that they chose to focus on the destroy ending, and exclude the rest, whish is a bit sad for players who prefer another ending, but it's understandable, and hey, it does mean that we could get Shepard back !

Maybe the “human defiance” was the use of the Pathfinder AI’s. Plus we know Liara was well aware of the Andromeda Initiative and had multiple exchanges with Alec Ryder at different points of time and maybe she decided to look into it. “We survived, let’s see if they did.” PLUS we know the geth inadvertently had a role within certain aspects of the Andromeda Initiative processes and maybe when she said “How did we miss this?” Maybe she was talking about the Andromeda Initiative arrival transmissions or maybe Andromeda Initiative success transmissions. This might be a bit of a reach but “Although, they should know by now not to underestimate human defiance!” Liara T’Soni (Doctor, Shadow Broker and BENEFACTOR.)” I could totally be reaching too far here though. Needless to say: I AM SO FUCKING EXCITED.

if they don't bring shepard back as the protagonist it will be the end of the franchise., EA seem hell bent on following disney starwars. halo tv, witcher season 3 in turning fans against the series, first off there are a few things that people have missed the message is intercepted by SA (systems alliance) not incident by the SA, relay 317 better known as Charon Relay was closed offically after the last rachni war, but is also mentioned briefly by javik that they were also part of the expanded boarder of the prothean empire, we now know from lore that rachni were one of the races who's song was corrupted by the collectors and used as its cycles initial attempt to dwindle its cycles resistance against reaper invasion. but it is also linked to messages in the codex of a deep space probe detecting possible race burred below gravity wells in stasis, it has been often guessed that this may be leviathan or other first ones in an attempt to out live any harvist, and only reactivate when the reaper signal stopped, if so they could be the new antagonist signal liara is talking about, we know some things for certain, the normandy (wherever it ended up after the mass relay boost) made it back home, second to take off and navigate edi has to make some sort of return (my guess the backup droid memory - yay jeffs cyber skills - allowing FTL life support etc but not full control, third to make it back home they uncover the crashed quarian ark, (NOT in andromeda but in the uncharted words of dark space) being a senior member with diplomatic style and senior alliance consultant on planetology and ancient technology liara is promoted to ships commander, the trip back to the sol system using ark technology. but is not 100 years as people are guessing, the reason being both the earth alliance built the catalyst in months not years, also the earth alliance has access to non gate ftl in the form of the Icarus II (as seen in leviathan dlc) that has was originally built for non gate exportation , futher to that given the andromeda link the hyperion engine would have been part of systems alliance records under classified material. both Liara has access to that (either directly funded its build) or has access from her communication with alex ryder. there are a other key things people are also forgetting if the geth are there and the rachni queen are alided in combination with the keepers who may have survived the explosion all have the ability to rebuild the citadel and mass relays at record paces, both javek from the shard has access to how the prothenans build the non reaper relay on iios as well as detailed records from the non reaper relay of omega 2. both these were disconnected from the main reaper relays so could have survived the energy explosion since they didn't work the same way, and the rachni queen has the ancestral memories of the other queens, being one of the oldest races that we know goes back at least two cycles its highly possible they have the knowledge to help build relays or were used by the reapers to do it for them as it is also mentioned that the rachni were corrupted by the reapers another thing the message was intercepted by systems alliance, earth is one of the new council leaders now, given liaras statement its not hard to think that Cerberus became very appealing following the survivors on earth, they have both the recourse's and leadership, so its not hard to think that another general oleg style leader has taken control following the death of the illusive man. they would ignore the councils order to not explore relay 317 for other food and with resources pushed to the maximum there was no one available to intercept there departure, so the likelihood of running into the rachni queen is remote. the question is what happened to shepard in this time, so while I would be happy to play as liara for a period shepard has to make a major appearance and it would be disastrous to make them the antagonist, I still want a two part story liaras story and shepards story then play as one of them depending on the users choice, but either way I do NOT want to be forced into a liara romance , your choices mater, is what mass effect was built on, its that choice that brought me back to me 2 and me3. I do NOT want to see ANY reference to Andromeda main crew, there 600 years in the future leave them there, I still want your romance choice to matter wither it be legendary or the original trilogy releases. and please keep WOKE and politics OUT OF MASS EFFECT

Everyone is wondering about the pathfinder style ship link. Being shadow broker , as well as Alex rider sharing data from the project it’s not hard to think the asari had links to both the project or obtained them from the quarien ark in deep space wherever, also the asari were part of the project so the ships may have been built on illum then transported to the andromeda project, it’s not mentioned how her agents got around it’s quite possible that they shared a common design as well as used mudskipper repurposed cargo ships

Have we noted that the MR7 "Relay" bears yellow and black(dark gray) striping which is something that was a Cerberus marker on the SR2? The Alliance color scheme tends more towards blue and a much lighter gray.
