While I agree with Wirtual that they've definitely nerfed Kacky this year, let's also remember that Wirtual is a veteran Kacky map player who holds the current world record holder for fastest time on Deep Dip 2. The average player is gonna find these more difficult than Wirtual did - same with Nadeo's official stuff. If you want the community to grow, you've got to give a chance for newer players to join the fray - and now's the time to do so when Trackmania as an e-sport is growing in popularity.

While Wirtual keeps complaining about the difficulty, I'd argue that overall trackmania's difficulty has become so high to the point even average long time players don't enjoy it anymore. The game at its core has gotten so hard I see a lot of players outright stop playing and new players not staying for long. Sure, it's a spectacle for Wirtial and other streamers and they win new audiences, but that new audience doesn't translate into new regular players very well. And I think the hosts of this Kacky, unlike Wirtual, are well-aware of this. That said, I don't think making Kacky easier is the solution. Kacky was made to be hard for the experienced players and by nerfing it they alienate the veteran players while still being too hard for the beginners / average players. It's a lose-lose situation. The problem isn't even Kacky, it's the game using a million surfaces / hard to control retro cars thus raising the bar of punishment for simple mistakes and making the process of learning exponentially harder and more time-consuming. And if there's a thing people don't like - it's when games even at the most basic level consume way too much time. There are a lot of games and people simply choose not to play Trackmania.

Agreed. I would have loved to see these maps in a separate “easy” kacky while running the main “hard” kacky along side it. Allow for a more accessible event while also sticking true the kacky’s roots and how it’s evolved through the years. Ive been playing trackmania for 500 hours and I was never close to beating any of the maps. Now I am close to beating several. Middle points are what is needed here i think. Make almost all of the maps as hard as they were back in the day, but keep some of them, maybe just 5 of them, with the same difficulty as this edition.

As someone who sucks at trackmania I appreciate the easier maps this time around. Last time they all felt so unapproachable, its kinda like how Wirt had issues with DeepDip 2 just being too difficult that it kinda took away from the hype/competition, its the same with kacky. I don't think all the maps should be easy but kinda like a climbing gym I think having a good spread of easy (to the point that pro players like wirtual will get them in 10 mins but a noob like myself needs to spend an hour on it) and hard t the point that a map only gets a few clears total is a good thing. Straight up saying that the easy maps are taking away from the event is just bringing down the mood. I do agree though that the average across the maps is leaning on the easier side but also nobody has cleared them all yet.

Deep dip 2 is a completely different type of difficulty than kacky maps. You can't really lose progress in kacky maps. In deep dip 2, you only get to practice the next jump after you reach it again, which leads to having to potentially climb the whole thing every time you wanna practice the next jump. Kacky is insane in short bursts, which at least from a viewer's perspective felt much more compelling to watch for me. I like harder kacky maps because it feels like I get to watch in awe as people with great skills compete to beat all the insane maps with the best time average. That's just me, though. I don't play the maps myself

There seems to be a "engine off" you pass through in the middle of the jump, so you need to get the reset in the window to continue the map

The entire area immediately after the jump has a giant Engine Off field that you're forced to go through - the window has a reset block as well as the booster. If you skip the window your engine is stuck off which obviously means you can't finish

I feel all arguments on This is to easy and this is to hard are dumb. Last Kack Reloaded Season every on was Mad at the diffculty People like me didnt enjoy the season it felt like way way to hard you could start a map and knew you cant finish it anyway. This Seasons difficulty is pretty good for the common kacky players and i am pretty sure most people lare enjoying this season. They have a chance of finishing maps and dont feel like they dont need to play it because its to hard. We can compare all seasons together and im pretty sure every season is just different and we should accept that instead of crying. It was mostly known by everyone that this season will be a easier version why now the suprised pikachu faces i dont understand this
