Welcome to Lovebites, the Wolfpack 🐺 Lovebites fans around the world, will be along to give you information and recommendations. Lovebites are a Japanese heavy metal band, formed in 2016 by Miho, Bass, who was previously in the band DESTROSE that broke up in 2015. They take much of their influence from the 1970's and 80's British and European bands such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Metallica. Miho is a big fan of Steve Harris, bass player with Iron Maiden and is influenced by his playing style. She left the band in 2021 for personal reasons and is currently pursuing new projects. Any Lovebites video recorded in 2021 or earlier, the basist will be Miho (ESP Bass), any from 2022 or later, it is 'new girl' Fami (Bacchus Bass, usually a 5 string) The present members are, Asami, Vocals and Piano. She trained in Ballet Dancing and before Lovebites was a R&B singer. She writes many of the lyrics and sings in English, not easy for a native Japanese speaker. Midori, (Midori Tatematsu) ESP Guitars. The blond 'Amazon Warrior'. Before Lovebites a member of all female band GEKIJO METALICCHE. Miyako, ( Watanabe Miyako, also has used the name Mi Ya) Dean and Gibson Guitars, Piano and Keyboards. The 'serious' one with long black hair. Before Lovebites a member of the bands DROP OF JOKER, 21g and SONIC LOVER RECKLESS. She is a classically trained pianist who writes much of the music, often incorporating classical themes into her compositions. She recently posted a 3 part series on her YT channel 'MIYAKO OFFICIAL' about the process she uses to compose new music in her home studio. She has an EP of some classic heavy metal songs transcibed and played on piano as though they are classical works. It would be accurate to think of her as a classical pianist who also plays guitar in a heavy metal band. A remarkable young woman. Both Guitarists play lead, seamlessly swapping lead and rhythm as required. They play wonderful harmonised dual solos. Fami, Bacchus Bass. The 'new girl', recruited as replacement for Miho in late 2022 when she was 20 years old and still at university. She has her own YT channel that has nearly 700,000 subs. Check out her 'Alien Alien' Slap Bass cover from when she was in her teens. Haruna, Drums. The 'Little BIG Engine'. a tiny lady, 1.45 meters tall, who is the power house that drives the band. Before Lovebites she had been in Destrose, Miho's former band, and was the first to join her in the new band. I saw Lovebites live in London recently, and watched Haruna in awe. She plays powerfully, fast and precisely throughout concerts that can be up to near 2 hours long. She uses a double kick bass pedal at unbelievable speed. All members of the band can play piano/keyboards. They were the first all female Japanese band to play at the Wacken festival, Germany in 2018, also playing at the Bloodstock festival in the UK and winning the UK Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band. In 2019 they toured the UK with Dragon Force and opened for Arch Enemy in China. Following Miho's departure in 2021 they went on hiatus, two members, Asami and Miyako getting married and having babies. Their 'comeback' concert, the first with Fami on Bass, was in March 2023. About the white stage costumes, in an interview for a French magazine in, I think from memory, 2018 or 19, Asami, the vocalist said, "We're girls, we don't want to dress like boys. Also we are all short and the white makes us easier to see on stage". And short they are, from drummer Haruna at 1.45 meters to tallest, Miyako and Fami (the new girl not in this video) at just under 1.6 meters (about 4' 9" to 5' 2" in old measure) I got to meet the band after their first gig in London back in June at the start of a short tour of the UK and Europe, and although I have been following them for several years prior, I was totally unprepared for both just how short and petite they all are, and also how stunningly beautiful they all are. Add to that their excellence musically, and I think these Ladies have what it takes to conquer the world.

They made a spectacular comeback in 2022 with the addition of new bassist Fami, who was selected through a public audition. The main principles of the band presented by Miho, the founder and first bassist of LOVEBITES, are as follows. ①Heavy metal (basic policy) ②All English lyrics (strategy for global expansion) ③White costumes (Most metal bands wear black costumes, and if these short girls wore black costumes, they would be hidden, so they wear white costumes to contrast and stand out.) ④High heels (to compensate for short height) The white costumes can be dyed in various colors by colored lighting. They wear white outfits and are lit up with colored lights that reflect the themes and genres of their lyrics. The white outfits have an advantage because LOVEBITES' songs incorporate different metal genres and there are many different aspects to their lyrics and music. Miho also thought about the visual on stage. Asami will modify stage lighting effects etc. on-site. For white costumes, each person requests their preferences and ideas from the costume staff. Liar she starts off Acapella before everyone kicks in Epiloge as well as the other E songs Edge of The World and Empty Daydream all start Balled like with Miyako on Piano then converting to guitar Empty Daydream has great backing vocals as well as Burden of Time where Miyako plays both keyboard and guitar at same time. Epilogue is the only true Ballad and stays a ballad with great guitaring and Edge of the World they just released a version fami bass is very present on from their Judgement Day tour for the album 2023 entitled Edge of The World Live Memorialfor the Warrior Souls The normal Judgement Day live is Knocking at Heaven's Gate. with the Liar Part II performance and Hammer of Wrath showcases Fami more with mini solos and a solo after guitar solos

Changes happened a year after this Concert. In 2021 Bassist *Miho's* father died during Covid, and she quit the band for personal reasons. Lovebites went on hiatus, and 2 of them had babies. They added 20yo phenom *Fami* as their new bassist in Oct 2022, and they have come back better than ever. You got to check out Aldious they are the first All Female Metal band to be commercially successful in this Milenuim.... check out Aldious Dominator live Radiant A ar O East. This band busted the doors open for all the other bands. Formed in 2008 they were not first but all the previous bands never succeeded.

Congratulations on finding Lovebites. Japanese metal is on an incredible roll, especially the women, who are kicking ass on an epic scale. Another great band you should check out is Bridear. Founded in 2011, they were in the second wave of all-female heavy-metal bands. They have the classic twin-lead attack and technical rhythm section. They have gone through some changes but have always kept their hard, heavy, technical sound. Their tiny bassist even does death growls! They just released their new album on June 28 and it’s a banger. BURRN is calling it a masterpiece. Metal Hammer compares them to Lovebites.
