just a thought, the kingies were got on your added assist's because they would have perceived the lure as an actual squid, and so attacked the way they would a normal squid to eat tube first. just goes to show the perceived realism of the lure. I haven't had a chance to use my ones yet, I live over west and theres a seasonal demersal ban on at the moment. once I get out again I can imagine a Dhuie or Baldie passing one of these up, ill be realy excited to get an occy version to test aswel. :)

Generally they are different outfits mate, but you can work a slow jig quite fast on the same outfit. It’s just not as effective as a dedicated fast jigging outfit 👍

Yeah mate I use the engine to stay on top of my line. I find it to be a lot easier then drifting on a shoot. it takes all the other factor like wind out of it.

R Dev I don’t think they were to be honest mate. I think it was just the braid popping. I did a few test knots in it when I got home and it kept breaking. I think it’s seen too much use and finally gave up. We don’t really get the plagues of leatherjackets out here thank god!
