I only went gray 3 years ago and I’m not giving it up yet. Wish I’d never gone from warm to gray but I’ve invested too much money in the change. I’m going to quit watching trends. Last month I painted my powder room and Butler’s pantry with SW Urbane Bronze and I love it. At least now the tile and granite in my kitchen and bathrooms, on the warm side, will be back in. I just can’t afford to tear out my three year old taupe carpet. At least it’s not a cold gray. Where I do have white walls they are a warm white. I painted my fireplace wall with SW Tricorn Black and love it. Not going to change.

Gold - I love the fall trees with yellow gold leaves - especially on sunny days. Glad to see that last of the white/whites. When I was a kid my mom painted our (my sister's and my) bedroom with white that had such a cold tone it looked almost light blue. In our North-facing bedroom. In Minnesota. Brrrrrrrr! I'd like to use Pink Ground in my bedroom with a lovely dark, bittersweet brown accent color.

If you are looking for a red I can recommend Benjamin Moore Mexican Tile. I've had it in my bedroom in the 3 foot space below the chair rail for a few years now. It's a red with some brown in it, and with an LRV of 30 it's dark enough so it doesn't scream pink, but yet not super dark red.

I leave the 'super deep, super saturated' colors to accents in the room like throws, pillows, drapes, bedding, rugs or pictures and paint my walls in lighter, warmer, more neutral colors that I won't get tired of. Since my rooms are pretty large ..with high ceilings and plenty of natural light, more vivid colors on walls can tend to look garish in bright daylight...and nothing makes you want to repaint more than a garish look.

I loved it at first but it's time for a chance in my case - I clicked on this video specifically to find a colour to replace it. That said, I will say that it's hard to find another colour that can cover a home so well across all rooms. It's neither masculine nor feminine, not too light but not too dark. Love your channel - fellow Canuck here. :)

Oh I love the Sudbury Yellow…it might be my new dining room color. I’m leaning toward the warm off white for my moldings as well because my living room is a saturated color, which the person at the paint counter SERIOUSLY warned me against. “It will make your room look small…blah blah blah” They were completely WRONG!! I have high ceilings & my LR is AWESOME but the moldings are still the stained wood because I can’t find the right creamy off white until now. Lol Thanks!

The warm browns work best if using a texture paint method, trust me. Beige is great for bathrooms, and porcacelin..(bad spelling, I know)...accesories match the white already their, AKA countertops, toilet, shower stall as in my house. Older homes need exploration, find that pile of boards used in the floor to create trim and more! Stains are hard to match up, and need not be or even done most of the time. Busy rugs are softened in busy places, like under a table, while nuetral faded patterns for high traffic areas, no carpeting, it is not back nor will anytime soon. Any fake wood on the floor is a bad idea. Use fake wood, as I did wood print contact paper for a border in the bathroom. Decorate for you, I have found childhood memories from long lost relatives and grabbed them up and now they endorn my home. My home is warmly lit, bright in the right areas and the only place all white is behind the cupboards on the walls of my kitchen, for I like a clean looking kitchen, since I do cook for others. Orange shaded celephane for flourecent light fixtures a must, as well as computer screens! The difference is awestruckness!!! I am not a pro-decorater, I am an educated guesser and creative by default gay ventruliquist....go figure. lol, love your advice and your fans are the best! Remember don't buy what you can supply, and always take free paint!!! No shame in posting notices in public.
