I hear so many people talk about these "hard wood" pallets (i.e. maple, mahogany, oak, etc.) and all I ever find are pine. Where should I be looking for these fancier pallets?

So check out new homes job sites , in nicer neighborhoods, the majority of pallets are softer woods , however when granite or marble is shipped for say counter tops for homes they have to use hard woods that can carry the load such as mahogany or oak , sometimes even maple .

Anytime they ship granite or marble to one of my jobs ( I build custom homes for a livening ) I take the pallet , shipping something as heavy as granite or marble you have to have the hard wood pallets to carry the load , check on new home construction sites for pallets you may get lucky . 😉

⁠@@Bearded-Viking-WoodWorksI highly doubt if the “pallet wood” was mahogany but who cares besides results. Mahogany that size wouldn’t be used for American pallets most likely but who knows where it came from.
