The PD 14 is a big improvement, but only in relation to Soviet standards. It is not even worth considering for any aircraft that has completely free choice of power unit. Russia has made the best Space rocket engines for which it is right to be proud and proves that Russia can compare with the best but this upload is about commercial power units for civil ( and many military) aircraft.

Russia's semi-new engine developments will make a lot more sense as wide body passenger and freight aircraft are increasingly made from composites and older fuselages are sold to other countries.
