First, they should improve the fire extinguishing system, as shown in Antalya. That really shocked the aviation industry. If the staff does not continuously improve such high-tech components it will lose the ability to develop something new. It is like piano playing: practice, practice, practice!

Maybe. But then they should concede that engines like PD-14 are not competitive instead of telling tales that they „shocked the world“. Second, sanctions are because of Putins invasion, Kremlin just needs to pull back its troops from Ukraine. Will need to do this anyway.

@@alexandervt641 You are so naive, even if right now Russia withdraws its troops from Ukraine and pays everything they are asked, no one will lift the sanctions, because the West only knows how to rob. Now regarding the invasion of Ukraine, do you see what the problem is, in 1991, when Ukraine gained independence, it was obliged to remain neutral, but instead of honoring the agreement with Russia, Ukraine sent it to hell and since 1992 began to flirt with NATO, moreover, in 2007 after the Ukrainian revolution, they directly embarked on the path to joining NATO. So I really want to disappoint you, it was Russia who started all this, it was Ukraine and NATO who started all this in 1992, Russia endured for a long time, but when you spit on agreements and do not want to agree, the time for guns comes. You are the ones who started this conflict. Further, regarding wars in general, the US and NATO started a war in Iraq on a far-fetched pretext and no one except Russia and China condemned them, no one provided evidence as to why they started the invasion of Iraq, that is, it was simply an unprovoked invasion of a Sovereign State. Then the western countries didn't like Libya's policy, you staged a revolution there, killed Gaddafi and destroyed the country as an entity, there is no longer such a country as Libya, only a bunch of tribes cutting each other. So before you shout how "bloody Russia" is bad, evaluate your actions. So you are a Western lo...er, hide in your dirty corner and shut up, now with your support Israel is committing genocide in Gaza, a genocide recognized by the UN, and where are the sanctions on Israel? So you lo..er sit and shut up, you st...pid pro-Western bot, who, like your government, only knows how to rob and lie

@@tsugumorihoney2288 Sanctions have been introduced because of Russian invasion of Ukraine, starting in 2014 with annexation of the Crimea and strongly extended after Putins war in 2022. So since they have been introduced because of Ukraine, they also will be lifted if the Ukraine occupation ends. So why are you repeating Kremlin nonsense? Same for the rest. Ukraine was part of the Soviet Union, not of Russia. Neutrality is strictly a decision of Ukraine, in the same way as neutrality of Russia is a Russian decision. Time for guns has come? Seems that you are totally unaware of any international law! Putins war was a crime and that‘s why the UN has condemned it, both invasion and annexations. Concerning Iraq: No, neither China nor Russia did condemn the US invasion, they did not even try to bring a resolution into the UN. Unlike Putins regime, the USA did also not annex the Iraq. Kremlin terrorists want to destroy and annihilate the Ukraine. Only a person totally brainwashed by Kremlin propaganda supports Putins war.

At being Russian. And that's about it. Russia has never at any time been able to produce advanced commercial engines of any type, jet or propellor driven. To claim they have is just not true. The PD 14 is a big improvement, but only in relation to Soviet standards. It is not even worth considering for any aircraft that has completely free choice of power unit. Russia has made the best Space rocket engines for which it is right to be proud and proves that Russia can compare with the best but this upload is about commercial power units for civil ( and many military) aircraft.

Long ago, when the United States was geographically isolated from much of the world, Boeing was born out of necessity-to overcome vast distances. To achieve this, it developed large, powerful engines. This innovation was partly driven by the economic isolation the U.S. faced at the time, which was as challenging as being under economic sanctions. As a result, the U.S. became self-reliant, creating everything it needed independently. Fast forward to today, Russia has followed a similar path under economic sanctions, fostering its own self-sufficiency. This historical parallel highlights why there are two main entities in the world-Russia and America-capable of thriving independently in almost any circumstances. You might recall an old notion: if Russia and America ever united as a single powerhouse, the world could transform into a paradise for humanity-a place of lasting peace and prosperity.

What I meant is that the collapse itself slowed down to a crawl new development during all of the 90s. Things started moving in the early 2000s and now they’re running. Still, considerable time was lost while the west never stopped. Again, I have zero doubt that Russia will start releasing aircraft which are 100% competitive with the next gen - this one is just not it. Lastly, I’m talking civilian transport here. This just repeats and repeats and the machine learning narration is really poor. Close watchers of modern commercial aviation have wondered why hollow blades did not appear earlier but Russia continued when western engine makers opted for ceramics and it took a long time. Experiments carried out between R-R and Embraer were held up for a while when Boeing acquired aspects of the Brazilian company but had to give that up. The RR-Embraer work was part of a long investigation into using biofuels and coincided with Bombardier's reports on failures of PW engines in special conditions touching on extremes of temperature and idling on the ground. Russia appears to picked up on this and the expression "short/medium haul" does mean the same between west and east aviation by dint of geography. The older expression "trans-oceanic" makes much more sense. In western Europe we too often see planes capable of straight line 4,000 nm range being used for very short haul and kerosene pollution is a disgrace. Airlines in N.America have tended to buy job lots of whatever Boeing and Airbus make rather than examine all round efficiencies beyond purchase spreadsheets. This has led to major issues of complacency and poor QC. The concept of air refueling of airliners has long been discussed by Japan, Russia, China, Australasia, Africa and S.America too. Russia's semi-new engine developments will make a lot more sense as wide body passenger and freight aircraft are increasingly made from composites and older fuselages are sold to other countries.

@@bobbysuazjFhvcfgh Air lines will buy it, if they feel it is better. Better engines mean lower fuel and maintenance costs, means more competitive airline.

You mean, who would use aircraft engines made by the country currently winning a proxy war against the entire west? The country that for 20 years provided the US with rides for its astronauts to the space station? The country with its own more than century old pedigree in aviation?
