One skill that Sal (and Justin, too) has is his ability to question things. My mom raised me to do the same and to analyze objectively as well as subjectively. But a great skill that Adam has that the other hosts don't seem quite so apt in is what I try to practice: questioning the questions. I appreciate Sal and Justin bringing up these topics like regarding social media influencers, but I really appreciate Adam for bringing even more depth and perspective to these conversations. Adam's really reaching that next level of podcasting, in my opinion, in other ways, too. 👍🏻

I'd give apple cider vinegar a try for the gut issues Justin. Sometimes it can neutralize the underlying issue causing your acid activity. May sound counter-intuitive but I had success with my late night reflux I was having. Best of luck, Love the show guys!

As a trainer / coach, one overall nutrition guideline I give all of my clients who have fat loss goals is to refrain from combining high fat with high carb in one meal/sitting. The purpose for this is to avoid the resulting insulin spike (carbs) and excessive calorie storage (fats). So, they can choose to combine either high protein (20g+) with high carb (chicken breast with sweet potato & veggie) OR high protein with higher fat (ribeye steak with broccoli). With all that said, I educate them how to read nutrition labels to follow a similar guideline when needing to make better choices on the fly. For restaurant dining, I inform my clients that restaurants typically include higher fat ingredients (sometimes sugars) in their recipes in order to make the food taste better and be more satiating. So, I advise them to select sides that are lower in carbs to balance out the macros of an indulgent meal and to avoid over-eating.

Satiated is such a good word. Now, to use it in a sentence. “I listen to the Mind Pump Podcast and my friends and i bet the over/under on the times Sal will say satiated.” Seriously, it is a great word 😂

I've always found buying plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and bags of pulses/legumes (and frozen veg is just as good) to be good for a low budget. Batch cooking saves us an absolute fortune. Buy enough wholefoods, cook 'em and freeze 'em and you'll have so much food you won't know what to do with. I buy frozen meat too, that keeps the cost down and I'm still getting my protein in. Dirty bulks are bad for your health anyway, so you'd be doing your body and wallet a favour by planning meals properly and batch cooking :)

2nd comment (finished watching today): I'm sure there are differences on a regional level, but at least in the areas of southern CA and Las Vegas I lived at Walmart, Target and Kmart were totally distinct companies. There was actually this intersection in Vegas (I believe Rainbow & SahaRa) that had THE three on three corners of the corners (maybe went to Kmart there 1-2 times in 11 years 😄) Love the old Garfield and especially the wood-paneled alarm clock memories! I must adopt "tiptoeing into hell" into my vocab!

Would love to win one of the programs. That being said. As i age i always had no problem of losing weight or maintaining it, the more we get older it is trickier to balance a dier. Not of wanting or the know how but more as you said: things come 7p, couldn’t meal prep, work , social life and so on. What worked for me is to allow to have not so good stuff. But make it only like 10 to 20 % of my diet. That way you don’t live like a monk around family and friends.

Both of you made great points. Most parents are not mature and emotionally intelligent enough to guide their children. Exactly, Adam, some parents may try to live through their kids. Society is somewhat divided into unaware co-dependents and narcissistic. Both people, unfortunately experience emotional damage as children and as adults unconsciously perpetuate similar damage to their children. So I agree with you both, it depends on the parent's emotional maturity, awareness of their needs and motive, and willingness to act in the child's best interest first and foremost.

I can think of several child stars that did NOT get F*d up as they aged: Jason Bateman, Taylor Swift, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, the Fanning sisters, Kirsten Dunst, Mayim Bialik, Jodie Foster and Jerry O'Connell seemed to turn out ok. But these stars are definitely few & far between. You might even argue against the ones I noted above. Even child stars like Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen, Leo DiCaprio, Selena Gomez, and Dylan & Cole Sprouse who have become successful as adults have all had very difficult and rocky journeys. So, I agree. Most child stars go down the path you're describing.

I fell off the workout plan. Will get back into it next week. I push for 3 days but I’ve been lazy. How would one snap out of it? I only have dumbbells at home
