That's a really nice work area. The wood plywood has a dampening sound effect to it which when operating loud equipment would be a plus,

In my opinion it is always worth it to spent some extra time to make something the right way. In this case it is you guys that have to look at it and live with it, so if it was not what you wanted you would always have to look at it and live with it. After a few years you would probably want to do it over, in order to get it how you want it. So you probably saved time by doing it right the first time.

In just watching your videos, it's hard to tell that you spent so much time on this work (great editing!), so I'm glad you detailed how much time it actually took. Really makes us (ok, me) appreciate the effort you've put into your great pole barn. It's beginning to make mine look like a slum, hahaha. Thanks so much for taking us along, because I know that the time and effort of doing THAT costs you time, as well. Really enjoying the process, Evan. Thank you both!

That was 24 hours well spent. It looks awesome! What would look nice would be if you could find a bunch of old hand tools and make one of the sections of your wall look like a very old garage wall like we see in pictures from the 20's, 30's, and 40's Maybe just the space between the windows. When you finish you are going to be well set up for sure. jack

It's great! I was wondering if I could think of anything to help cut down the time... If you do a lot more walls, it could be worthwhile hiring a floor sander and just doing all the sanding in one quick go on the floor?! Equally, while they are down there, you could stain with a roller on a pole.

The house I grew up in had that plywood as the walls but without sanding it. I.HATED.IT!!!! It would snag clothes when you bumped it, scratch any body part that came into contact with it, and cleaning it was next to impossible. My dad installed it in the house because my mother was tired of cleaning/washing fingerprints and such off the walls (drywall) and this was their solution. It worked but I still have nightmares about it. You'll be glad that you did sand it down especially when you have to get that piece of wood way back in the back of the wood rack 😉

@margaretbedwell32112 жыл бұрын
Love the look of the walls. It definitely is a job well done. I also like the kennel room walls but it is as you say not type of walls for the work shop. The fine sawdust from sanding the T1 11 would be great to save for making nail hole filler for pine wood. Just a thought. Thanks for sharing the process and your ideas. Have a Blessed day.

JudithB It looks really good!! We used T11 to side our house in Arizona and when we renovated the old farm house. It just looks so good and so sturdy!!!
