Just a suggestion, you didn’t say what kind of door you’re putting on solar room. You might consider a slider. Have you ever watched Lumnah acreas, I think that’s the name. They are off grid and Al is pretty knowledgeable about solar.😊❤

The panels I bought have a 30 year linear power warranty. That basically means they will degrade a small percentage each year. And after 30 years they will still produce around 80% of original output. Or something close to that.

I learned the hard way that when moving a Hobart meat slicer around, you have to keep it in an upright position. If you don't , the oil leaks into the motor housing and burns up the capacitors. It's a real mess to clean up.

Just an idea for you . Instead of cutting the stainless steel table down what about keeping like it is and finding a thick plastic tub to fit in the hole , so you use the table for cleaning/cutting vegetables or meats and all you have to do is slide them in the tub . So when your done all you have to do is take the tub out to move the product to the next table for the next step in processing.

Evan, I hope things work out for you but I have many a friend who are off grid on solar, even friends in Canada with heavy snowfall who have their panels close to the ground. I believe having your solar panels on the roof is not a good idea. Even if it is on a lower roof level its going to be difficult to access to clear them of snow. Heaven forbid you are down and can't get out to clean them and Rebekah has to go out and clear the snow. Are you planning on using a long handled broom? Shading panels like from partial covered sections can not only not produce but also rob you of power. The panels out by your garden are better in that you are able to clean them. Also mounted permanently fixed to a roof it is a compromise in angle of the sun from summer and winter exposure. I wish you well but my advice would be to atleast put them closer to the ground. Your property taxes will go up because you are adding value to your pole barn building by putting the panels on it.

For the solar control room, I would sheath the walls in a fire retardant board like cement board instead of dry wall, and maybe a CO2 fire suppressor. Especially if you are going to be putting batteries in there. Lithium fires self oxygenate so they are nearly impossible to put out. If you get a fire in there and you have dry wall you can basically say good bye to your whole barn.
