I liked watching this one, good job. Just a suggestion, if you feel concerned that they might push on it through the openings, you could put a cross brace of angle iron from corner to corner with the hydrant in between them. My cows would certainly mess with it anyway, just my thoughts. Good one Evan, thanks for sharing, have a great rest of week.

We used to feed our walnuts to our pigs... (Black walnuts). They're bitter & hard when the 1st fall off , but they loved em... Husk & all.. Hickory nuts too... In fact, our pen was about 5 acres of hardwood forest.. In the fall they filled up on acorns , hickory , walnuts & persimmons.. My uncle swore it made them taste 2x better... Maybe...Idk. But we raised hundreds a yr in six ,5 acre pens. In the 80's prices bottomed out , and we were out of the hog biz.. Went to beef cows for about 30 yrs . Now the farm is dormant . Kids all grew up & moved away so my family shut it down when my dad & uncle retired around 2000..

Our hogs would get ahold to a water hydrant on a daily basis. Thanks to you tube I found the perfect solution. 6 inch pvc pipe cut 7 feet long put in the ground 3.5 feet run the water line up through the pvc pipe and fill it full of concrete. We did put a cut off on the hydrant. And it's too high for them to reach out of the ground. Haven't had issues in over 2 years

Just curious why you don't have a line shut off valve for each building or faucet upright? I understand depth might be a factor but if an upright breaks or freezes for some reason it would be nice to isolate that fixture until it can be repaired without shutting down the entire system. Im in Texas so code varies but 10-22 inches is sufficient for most applications. makes it easy to install valve boxes and lines. i would use cow panel to enclose that valve upright. just cut to fit and staple it to the posts. otherwise they may get their head in there and push on that valve pipe. i learned a long time ago if there is a weakness in the system the cows will find it and exploit it.. usually at the most inappropriate time. Love the channel and content.

Mostly treated post or just treated to protect from bugs but water and ice can damage them in time, and I always put rubber coating on a post that is going in the ground and put water sealant on the rest of the post out of the ground.

When fitting an axe head to a handle, you bag the handle on the floor, do the same with the pto shaft, hold the shaft, and as if tamping down dirt, the universal will go on without needing to strike it hopefully. :)

put your walnuts into a cement mixer with some 2-3 inch rocks/ pot i some water to cover most of the way and turn on. this will get the outer coating from the walnut and the just put the walnuts in a wire basket to dry for the season. the water you get from the mixer can be user to get worms for fishing when dumped on the grounf, worms will appear for co;;ecting/ TRY IT/ when walnuts are dry the you can crack them for cakes cookies or whatever.
