really enjoyed this review! I have tried to succinctly explain the rules of this game more than once and you made it seem easy ;)

Thanks for the great review! I loved Wingspan and that this might be better is like, woah! Lol the monster eating the butterfly, that actually made me laugh!

Thank you for this review! This and Babylonia are on the top of my list right now and I’m not sure which way to go.

Both excellent choices! Personally, I like Babylonia the best of the two - it was on my top 10 from 2019! But you wouldn't go wrong with either of them. Hope you enjoy!

I guess it would be quite unthematic to have "take that" elements in a game about flying butterflies around... I guess it does play as well with two players?

Appreciate the colorblind comment!

Thanks Brand! its tough out there being a colorblind person with a lot of board games that rely on colors. I appreciate when companies go the extra mile to think about alternatives. This one isn't impossible to work with though.

Hey guys! I was fortunate to be the graphic designer for Mariposas. Making games colourblind-friendly is high on our priority list. It's really a must. Not sure if you noticed, but there is a different line/dot pattern on the border of each hex space. This was done so that those of us with colour issues would have another visual cue to identify what the hex colour/type is :) Game on fellas! Cheers.

@@mattpaquette8207 Thank you for letting us know, Matt! I hadn't taken notice to that. I just looked at the cards and sure enough, they are on there. That will certainly help. I appreciate the colorblind attention!

Bullet dodged. But I wish Hargraves the best. Wingspan is in my top 50 all time. Definitely, Mariposas is a try before you buy having watched this review. I can't tell you how many times this game was in my "Cart" and nearly pre-ordered. For most people with large collections that are only getting 2-4 average plays per game anyway before collecting dust, the replay-ability isn't an issue. For serious hobbyists I know, by the time you've seen what the game can offer, you've also likely had three months pass, and have bought ten more games and two KS games rolled in. Fair, and balanced review! Certainly stunning to look at, and a unique theme! AEG will sell a good number of these. Will it be Wingspan numbers? No.

Cool cool! You're right, replayability isn't nearly the factor it used to be for the junkie kinda hobbiests (not dissimilar to myself). A game REALLY needs to hit a grand slam for me to get replayed frequently these days - things like A Feast for Odin, Cthulhu Death May Die, Underwater Cities, etc. But, there are still plenty of discerning gamers that spend a lot of time choosing which game to make an investment in and really explore what it has to offer. Different strokes!

Great review! We love love love Wingspan in our home and haven’t had a negative experience with it yet. This one doesn’t look like title be for us.
