Decluttering and organizing can help you save so much money! Whether it’s finding something you didn’t know you had so you don’t have to go out & buy it or whether it’s finding things to sell or donate. It also gives you such peace of mind seeing your finished product. I really enjoyed your video. Nice job!

You are amazing! I can't believe you did the whole house! You rock girl! Ok. Here's a crazy thing I did but I LOVE IT! I was so fed up with the Tupperware situation I dumped ALL of it. Then I bought one size. Just one. If I need more room I fill more containers. If I need a tiny space I use a snack baggie. But now my drawer is simple. No searching, no mismatched things. I love it! Oh, also if you want to simplify the kids plasticware... one of the things i did was each child had their own color... all the blue plates, bowls, cups etc to maybe your son, all the red to one daughter, all the pink to another. Simple 😄❤🙏 God bless you and your family dear.

Dear Steph it is so satisfying to see, that I am not the only one struggling with clutter!! I have been on my decluttering and minimalist journey for 5 years now and I am still not where I want to be. I have even created a YT channel to help me stay accountable. But as you mention "it's all about progress not perfection". I myself also try to declutter not more than I can handle in one go. The KonMarie method didn't work for me, as it has been too overwhelming. I declutter more than you do: one drawer, closet, cupboard, spot at a time. Thank you so much for inspiring me. 🥰
@TheSecretSlob4 жыл бұрын
I also like the theory of KonMari, especially focussing on items that spark joy, but I agree, it can be overwhelming to do it all at once!

I have 5 kids. I had 4 kids under 6 years old. When I moved into this house 20 years ago, I moved my dishes to the lower cabinets. My kids were able to unload the dishwasher, set the table, and make their own breakfast. My youngest is now 15. Yesterday, my husband and I were forming a plan for reorganizing and decluttering the kitchen. His comment, “I still like having our dishes down here. It’s so easy to unload the dishwasher.”

Very impressed by your focus, optimism, energy, perseverance 💪🏻 And very inspired to give my drawers, cupboards and shelves a go! 😃 Several years ago I reduced my amount of stuff I guess with 40% - 50% using the Konmari method (per category, keeping only what I use or love). WOW well done great job, and just shows how quickly it can be done when you set your mind to it! With the Tupperware I just picked up a tip from Dana K White (A Slob Comes Clean) and she said to store Tupperware with lids ON - I have done like you and kept the lids in another Tupperware box, but last week I had a clear out and have stacked them all with lids on; OMG it's a game changer! No more rummaging around for lids or having to stack and re-stack the nested boxes to find the right size; I just take the box straight out and use it 🤷♀️ I even got rid of the 'lid box' (actually under my sink with dishwasher tabs & counter spray) I know you have loads so they would take up a lot more space but it would same you time and leas stress - especially when you. ant find the matching lid! 🙂

Great video! Everything looks so nice! But you've just GOT to get more drawer dividers!! They keep the contents from getting all jumbled up! (Imagine if your silverware drawer didn't have a drawer organizer!) Ikea has such fabulous drawer organizers, even a spice drawer organizer -- your spices won't stay lined up w/o it. And other drawer items will just slide around and get messy again w/o something to contain them, esp the smaller items. Even if you just use lidless Tupperware bottoms for some free organizers (such as for measuring spoons or charging cords), it would be a huge help! Also, without having an assigned place for every item, things will just get shoved into any drawer or cabinet. Store items by where they first get used. I've seen people inconspiculously label the inside top of each drawer, if needed. Now that you've straightened out your drawers, head to Ikea for the appropriate drawer dividers for your spaces. Or even hit the thrift store for inexpensive ones. Keep all your hard work from getting undone! I just love your channel, and love your sweet personality!
