Inside Zipper Pocket For a Bag | The Sewing Room Channel

I've watched many videos on zippers. One thing I've had issues with is which direction the pocket fabric print should be facing, before you sew, and cut the hole for the zipper to pull through. Everyone either does it so fast, or uses fabric that's hard to tell. Thanks for using fabric print that made it easy to see, and at a speed we can see.

Ursula, KZbin gives us the option to speed up or slow down videos. Click on the gear, which is the settings icon, and drop down that menu to the playback speed option. I find it very useful for videos where the content poster speaks too quickly, and even for the slower ones I have the option to change the speed to my liking. Hope it helps you.

Hi Sherrill, I hope you can help me troubleshoot the puckering, 4:37 which seems to be in almost every video I've seen on KZbin using this pocket method. I'm just not sure how to get it to lie flat. Thanks in advance.

Hi Virginia. Not a problem. At 04:37 each long edge is folded so that you can do top stitching on the facing. After stitching push the facing all the way through to the backside. Tug on the corners to help get the corners to lay flat - then press it with your iron. Then place the zipper underneath - pin to hold - stitch the zipper in place. Hope this helps.
