I suggest you square up after snowballing corners. Also a 5 lb weight placed at end of long ruler helps to keep ruler from sliding with long cuts. Donna from Jordan fabric gave me the idea and it really helps. Great detail on how to efficiently cut your fabric. Also I would put fall print on back with a green binding to make the runner for fall and Xmas. Green goes with every season except patriotic ones.

you showed a video for non bias pot holders can i use the same senerio for this? i would fold back the 1.5 " back fabric and cut the batting off leaving only the back fabric press and fold edges and miter the corners. will that work? im not a huge bias fan. but i can do the other way perfectly..

As usual, very clear tutorial! This looks like a "quick" project! What type/brand of cutting mat do you recommend? And the rotary cutter you use?
@TheSewingRoomChannel4 жыл бұрын
Hi Pamela. I use the Olfa rotary cutter. There is no brand name on my cutting matt. I purchased it from Joann Fabrics and Crafts. The size is 33" x 56". It fits on the large craft table, also at Joanns. Stay safe. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing.

Hi Sherrill, I enjoy watching your segments. I have always pre-washed the fabric before using it in a pattern. Do you do this step? I have also taken several sewing classes. One of the classes, the teacher showed us how to pull threads on the cut edge until we got the fabric so the grain would be straight. Do you also do this step? Is this step necessary, say for potholders, tablerunners, etc? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. Nancie

Love this table runner. I am going to make one!! Excited!! I have some questions. Do you use a 100% cotton batting? Do you presoak and dry your batting? Thank you! Learning so much!!
@TheSewingRoomChannel4 жыл бұрын
Hi Sandra. My first choice for cotton batting is Warm and Natural. I do not presoak and dry the batting first before cutting into it. But you can if you want. Stay safe. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing.

Hi Grace. You can get one from Joann Fabrics and Crafts - use their coupon app for a discount. You can also find them on amazon.com. Happy sewing.

Thank you! I love 2 fabric projects! I know you can make it as long as you need to, but can you please tell me how wide the finished runner is?
