Thanks for taking the time to do this review. You confirmed that I am not an idiot for coming across the same idiosyncrasies in the sleds assembly and that a dedicated saw makes the most sense. You saved me from a return and giving them a flaming review. Well done.

It looks symmetrical. Will it work with a saw with the blade on the opposite side of the saw body? (i.e. Milwaukee M-12 Fuel 5-3/8 inch saw)
@TheShackHome7 ай бұрын
Yes, any saw regardless of the base.

Thank you for sharing. I also appreciate that you did not cut out the part of the video where the cut appeared to be about a 16th of an inch shorter than expected... then allowed that to be a teaching moment regarding taking into consideration the blade thickness and compensating on either side depending on the part of the board being the 'cut' board.👏

Thanks for the review, I was thinking of buying one, you showed me enough to go ahead and buy. I'm not the only one who's gonna comment on the 24T blade... I was flinching when you cut the red-zero clearance strip and small chunks were flying... 😅

It didn't last long i found an old blade from my uncles construction company, It had still with the rubber coating on from being rehappened. so I quickly replaces that construction rip blade and replaced the edged on the trac guide so I have a smooth zero clearance trac saw with a much improved blade. I didn't like it as soon as I started but just finished for the video.

Thanks for a great review! I noticed you used a 24T blade, I use a 60T blade when cutting plywood... I don't get many if any splintering... on good quality plywood. Have an awesome weekend 😊

Good eye. actually, yesterday Thursday I put on a 60 tooth blade which I should’ve done first before I even did this. Lol now I have to re-zero the track saw so I purchased two new edges so I think I’ll do another video in case people have to change the saw, saw blade or the edge get damaged.

Hi. I enjoyed the video. I have just purchased the guide and want to buy a new circular saw to dedicate to the guide. I will use it almost exclusively to break down sheets of plywood. Can you tell me which Dewalt Saw you used? I do wonder if I should consider a 6-1/2" circular saw. What are your thoughts? Thanks.

Don't know if you may have mentioned in an additional video... but, MC sells tracks (2 piece for $80) separately to extend the total length of the sled track to allow longer cuts. [Edit: You do mention in description for the video on replacing the stip.]

Nice review, thanks. I have a Kreg Track Saw Guide but I am thinking of upgrading to this because I am not keen on the plastic sled for the Kreg and it is sloppy on the guides, with no means of adjustment. I think that your problem with the join in the guide rails may be due to the fact that you had it on an uneven surface when you made the connection 5:54. Also, the minor splintering you observed may be because your relatively thin plywood had no support beneath the track (16:14) causing quite a large amount of flexing. One thing I did learn from using my Kreg saw guide, was to lay the track down on the portion of the wood that is to be kept. This way the saw is cutting through the off-cut and no allowance is required for the kerf width.

Hello Sir. Very elaborated presentation. Did you put a straight edge against the cut to see if there is any day light ? I appreciate you input. Thanks

Great review. Could be an option for me but can you do bevel cuts with this system? And one thing about a dedicated track saw track system is that they have non slip pads that allow you to place them on sheet goods without have to clamp. And most seem to work well from the videos I’ve watched. But the Milescraft system is definitely much less expensive.
@TheShackHome9 ай бұрын
@Hansaman58 I wouldn't think so. Much like your table saw if you have a zero clearance insert you cant do any angle cut. You would have to re cut the insert for the angle and once back to 90 you no longer have a zero clearance.
@johnpierce6733 ай бұрын
I haven’t unboxed mine, but another video I saw indicated that it also has non slip pads

NB: The box opens on the side - not the ends. There's a flap that's glued down with a thin line of glue. Just break the join with your finger or whatever and the lid of the box will open. (I could take my time figuring out how to open the box as I wasn't shooting a video - and it did take me a while to figure out 😆).

Would you say that if one side does not matter on tear out that the clean side should be on the bottom?

Will the guide work with left-side saw, or only right side blade saws? Also, after the red edge is cut and I buy a different circular saw (going from right-side blade to left-side), then the red edge may not be correct for the new circular saw? Is the red edge replaceable with a new one?
@TheShackHome11 ай бұрын
@FiveFishAudio yes it should it would just be flipped and you would cut from the oposite direction. and Yes if you change saws more than likely you will need to replace the red rdge. I put a better blade in my saw and now it doesnt come close to the blade so I ordered new edges and will do a video after Christmas on how to replace them.

Le recomiendo primero leer el manual Antes de armarlo a “ciegas”. Y más si es para un vídeo de como se arma. Saludos
