Thanks for the video. I just got this track, and am just waiting for a finer saw blade to arrive, so that I can put it to use. In the future I will likely need a replacement splinter guard, so if you could provide a link to where you got yours it would be very much appreciated. I search amazon for it, but no luck. Take care.

Just go to Milescraft website there you click on the track saw and find the replacements. Hope this helps. Thank you for viewing. milescraft.com/product/replacement-guide-strip-2-pack/

For the extra frugal you can swap the back strip when the front strip goes. I'm also toying with using double sided tape and and maybe some HB as a non plastic edge guide.

I'm a big fan of this guide myself! Mine unfortunately came with a strip that was cut too short so the zero clearance strips didn't meet where the rails connected. Milescraft sent me two replacement strips and now everything is perfect! I just ordered a new set of rails as well for the odd occasion where I need to cut longways down a sheet of plywood.

I wish they would of let me purchase the first set I had that had the flaw on them at a discount price so I could of been able to do the same. I’m waiting to see if they have a sale or a seconds sale but doesn’t look to happen any time soon. Still a great little track saw.
@nicklavioletteiii21839 ай бұрын
@TheShackHome I don't know if they offer factory seconds or scratch/dent/blem items, but perhaps an email would clarify that for you.
@TheShackHome9 ай бұрын
@@nicklavioletteiii2183 sadly they don’t, yet. That’s why I had to return the blemished ones. I asked they said no. I told them even Woodpecker tool has seconds sale. if the anodizing doesn’t come out correct. they will sell as second at discount price. They wouldn’t budge. No worries I still have my DIY homemade track saw guide I’ve done for 20 years with scrap wood, if I need to cut a sheet length wise I’ll use it.

@TheShackHome You have to kind of admire the stance though, if something not first quality standard makes it to you they'd rather replace it with something that does meet standard, but I definitely see what you're saying.

Why didn't you use the blade guide jig that comes with the saw to setup the new saws blade clearance?
@TheShackHome5 ай бұрын
@@mikethompson9745 the main focus was just to show how to replace the edge if they were damaged somehow. Because I didn’t have a piece of wood under the tracks saw. when I first cut the edge with that gnarly rip blade the edge wasn’t the smoothest, kind of chippy and rough so this was a good way for me to get a nice smooth edge and show people how to replace their edge if it happened to get damaged

So what type of blade does Milescraft recommend?
@TheShackHome5 ай бұрын
I’m at the IWF here in Atlanta Georgia there was a Miles Craft booth so I asked them . There answer “there isn’t any specific type of blade just nothing smaller than 7 1/4 “ any Circular saw brand and any circular saw blade they just recommend a circular saw no smaller than 7 1/4 that’s it

@@TheShackHome Smaller 6.5" diameter saws don't work with the track? Why would that matter?

While at the IWF I asked the rep himself and they only ask not to use any blade smaller than 7-1/4” just their recommendation
