These chairs are very expensive but totally worth the price. I have a used steelcase leap v1 for my kids, and a v2 for me. I paid about 300-500 bucks each buying them at a used office furniture store. These things are built like tanks. I am a tall heavy dude over around 320lbs, and the chairs are rated for 450 lbs. The build quality is noticably different as well as the comfort. If I had to choose between paying full price for a new steelcase, or go with a cheap amazon 300 chair. I would choose the steelcase every time because I have already used these chairs for 3+ years and will likely last 10+ years vs the cheap chairs which start wearing out and need replacement after 2-3 years. Invest in your office equipment, and save yourself on the doctor bills later in life.

I have spent a LOT of time and money on office equipment. The people commenting on the price being 1500 do not understand what actual quality ergonomic office chairs are like to daily drive for hours a day. You can buy a steelcase chair made in the 90s called the leap v1 or v2. They are built like tanks, and the most comfortable piece of furnature I own. I have 2 v1's and 1 v2. that I have used for over 3 years. They are rated for 450lbs and as a heavy 320lb dude. I will never buy a different brand again and will be using these chairs for 10+ years.
@orangemc9358 Жыл бұрын
People can say the money is worth it all the time ($1500+), but, there's only so much a chair will do to preserve your health. They are NOT a fix-all end-all solution to your sedentary lifestyle or chair-bound obligations. I'd much rather get a FAR more affordable chair like a Clatina Mellet or a Ticova Ergo and pour the remaining funds into something like good footwear/attire to get active on foot, or a decent entry level bike for road or trail use. A gym membership would also work. And, if I'm feeling real fancy, maybe even a nicer mattress or a regular chiro visit. Those two are likely well out of the price range, but if you've got the money to buy a Gesture, well... It's important to preserve your posture/back while sitting, but if that's all you're doing, you WILL have issues at some point. Don't treat chairs as though they're a gift from God, I've found far too many blindly trust in their marketing and neglect their health in the process.
@IronCan888 ай бұрын
Or you can get a comfortable chair and still do whatever exercises you were going to do anyways. I personally prefer Steelcase leap v2 over this gesture. I bought it used for $250. No other chair can be at this chair at this price.

Why are all the poors complaining about the price? I have a leather one with the factory headset. $2,500 after taxes. Stop complaining about end-game quality, if you can’t afford it. Here’s a tip, stop being poor! Quality products will cost its value! P.S. to everyone saying Herman Miller is cheaper, I literally put my Embody in my office room, where I spend the least time. The Gesture is in my gaming room where my gaming PC is located, and the room I sit in the most. The Herman Miller is cheaper for a reason. It doesn’t compare to the Gesture. So if you’ve never tried either, the Gesture is better… for me, at 215lbs/6’4. But that’s just my biased, subjective experience. Take it with a grain of salt, as I’ve heard the chair isn’t the most comfortable for people under 5’8, again those are subjective experiences from those reviewers. The Embody looks fancy, it looks futuristic, and everyone calls Herman Miller “the Ferrari” of office chairs… I mean that’s cool and all, but for me, the Gesture dunks on the Embody 🤷🏼♂️

$1800 for an office chair… I’ll paste a comment below that sums it up perfectly “I bought this thinking I could write it off on my taxes but then my boss explained to me how deductions work and I realized that I could not. Anyways, I have a thousand dollar office chair now. Is it worth a thousand dollars? Probably not, but I'm stuck with it. It is super comfy and just about everything is adjustable, but once you find your preferred settings, you probably won't ever touch them again. Sitting in this chair is not a life changing experience. After awhile it just becomes a regular chair instead of a thousand dollar chair. When guests sit in this chair, they have no clue that it costs a thousand dollars, and when I tell them, they look at me like I'm an idiot and seem generally unimpressed -- bragging about my thousand dollar office chair is part of the reason I bought a thousand dollar office chair, so I feel that the value is slightly diminished when I don't get smug satisfaction out of telling people about it. Oh by the way, this thing ships fully assembled and the box is enormous so I hope you live on the first floor”

You never know the value of a good office chair until you sit for prolonged amounts of time on a shitty one.
