What originally made Alistair meta was being able to queue the Auto attack so it applied during the headbutt animation. It made Alistair a nightmare to lane against because you can't trade back. If you take this pick be sure to get your auto attacks in as they're extremely important. Also with the buffs that's coming out in 13.3 we may see this come out in pro play as a counter pick. W ratio is going to 90 and Q ratio is going to 70%.

imo the biggest buff for alistar top is the passive now having a scaling (40% max hp) so now he can be played into the harder bully lanes and out trade when he has passive

about the Phase rush comment about 7 mins in, its actually a solid pick for Alistar since just like electrocute he can proc it instantly by doing his full combo W/Q/E meaning you have the freedom to peel after engage or use the movement to follow for the stun. This is actually how I normally play alistar support since he gets huge value out of the movespeed runes in the same page. The only issue I see to using it here is Alistar needs the Electrocute damage early otherwise he can't get strong trades until he gets some items, fortunately alistar can proc it just as easily

Oh nice I thought this was 13.3, Alistar is a fun pick for sure against some melee champions since he has so many base stats and can win trades through pure of will, but anyway, after 13.3 update Alistar solo laner might actually become meta, the AP scalings will increase so much + better healing, one or two AP items and you'll have a decent burst, the rest could be more defensive, support Alistar might stay the same.

It was specially good cause at the start the Rengar started talking shit about us trolling and that he was gonna smash that support pick on top.. I really love to play singed with fleet footwork against jax. after you fling him you can AA him midair to get the burst of movespeed from fleet. so you can harras him and run out again all early game

Quote me on this, 13.3 we will see sunfire demonic abyssal grasp presence of mind or conqueror + presence catalyst rush alistair top. I think the AP ratio buffs will make him absurd in top lane where he'll have the econ to fit in extra items while still being tanky. The headbut pulv grasp trades will be so crazy, he might even be really good at proccing heartsteel off CD, but that would mean not taking presence to maximise the cooldown with domination secondary.

They are buffing his mana pool, so you might actually get away with not taking PoM. On an engage tank with so much base hp and durability as Alistar, being able to take Triumph + Tenacity is really huge. You could take cookies + Cosmic insight(also reduces heartsteel cd) as an alternative.

If you play Alistar top, most likely you’re gonna go for Grasp into even melee lanes and Phase rush into ranged/hard lanes, maybe Aftershock into ranged lanes aswell. If AP Alistar proves to be viable I think Phase Rush or First strike will be preferred over Electrocute.

@@AuXDubstep There are much better picks into Jax than Sylas, Zac is another good option because Zac relies on abilities for dps and can Q Jax and auto minions in short trades. Sylas can trade early but Jax just outscales him relatively quickly into the game and from that point on Jax will just keep jumping you and statchecking you. Sylas is generally too weak into most toplane bruisers and only have decent lanes into certain tanks, it’s a champ that relies too much on being fed in the midgame.
