If you include cap hit, I'm not so sure I pick Matthews before Suzuki. #34 comes about 5.25 mil more than #14. With that difference you upgrade a Savard type of defence into a real top pair D. On top of that, in big games Matthews shrinks, Suzuki shines.

I agree that Iggy Jr. is likely the best option at 5 or 6. There's zero chance Lindstrom drops that far.

@@kevmccart6902 If we fall to 6th or 7th… And the picks before go : Celebrini, Demidov, Parekh, Lindstrom, Catton, Iginla… Then BPA at that point would be (IMO) Zeev Buium. He IS a LHD… but before you cry… I recommend you go & watch the guy. He is AMAZING.

On Jon Cooper: 1) of course it was a dumb thing to say, and if we don’t ask public figures to hold to a higher standard, it’s utterly impossible to teach men like, say, the idiots on here who say he said nothing wrong, to be better. 2) While no one, especially women, are obligated to forgive and forget when men say stupid things, if we don’t accept the apologies - especially over something that amounts to nothing more than a stupid turn of phrase - we’re not exactly promoting other men to own up to silly archaic speak or practice. In conclusion, what he said was dumb but not exactly damaging, and so it deserved an apology as well as immediate forgiveness after it. The end.
