I've loved The Slow Readers Club for many years since seeing Omerta support Puressence on Channel M. I still believe that their songs just need an outlet for them to become massive and be loved by the masses. Once people hear them, they will love them, I'm sure. Personally, (perhaps selfishly) I love seeing them at the level they are at. Aaron Starkie has a beautiful voice and is a fantasic lyricist who is not afraid to show his vulnerabilities. I feel so much love for him and the band. Every time I've seen them I just want to hug him! Please don't lose that edge in your sound in the search for mainstream success.

Saw this band support James at the Colston Hall in Bristol and had the good fortune to meet the band afterwards. Absolutely brilliant! Really lovely lads and would happily see them again. Got the crowd going and my good lady wife loves them !

Hi guys, my visit to Dublin was followed by the search for a band on the Internet. I found it, went into the "workmans club" (23.04.2016) and heard you! I was impressed by the music and the voice of you Aaron! Come to Germany! It was nice to have met you. I hope you enjoyed the aftershowparty with no headaches ... see you ;-)

Lyrics I am broken, I am sea sick I am feeling cursed Now some would say That's more than I deserve I am empty, I am hollow I am solemn verse My soul is bare For all here to observe I am wasted, I am useless Come and dig my earth My fingers bled From digging in the dirt I saw a ghost I saw a shadow Hanging over me I am frozen, I am winter I am desolate I'm waiting for The summer to return I am vacant, I am shallow I am derelict I'm drunk again I guess I'll never learn I saw a ghost I saw a shadow Hanging over me

It would be an impossible thung to do, to add The Communards to Echo and the Bunnymen and imagine anything other than something odd. The reality is this, pure genius. My new discovery, My new obsession. The 1980s never died.

Looking back through the comments from a couple of years ago most people were predicting a big future for this band. As we come towards the end of 2018 they may have had a little more exposure and crept up the order at some festivals but, the much predicted fame seems miles away, a real shame as they are a great band.
