The amg gt series is one of the most underrated cars around.. I went to a track day a couple weeks back.. A guy in a base amg gt was annihilating people in the advance group.. And they were in vettes (I like my vettes lol) and 911's...(especially in the corners) I was in a focus so he killed me most everywhere haha

This is one of the most idiot claims I've ever heard. Nobody here in Europe "underrates" an AMG GT vehicle... No matter if it's a GT S, GT C or GT R. These cars are amazing sport and super sports cars. As fast as quick as Porsche 911 models. You really have no fucking clue about this sports car, dude! The AMG is one of the best sports cars of our era! Just inform yourself about all the AMG GT3 racing successes over the last seven years, which speak for themselves. Aston Martin models aren't competition at all for all these AMG GTs! Aston Martin are just like rip off vehicles, which got the same engine, but only in a wet sump version but not in dry sump, like the AMG GT C and GT R. Aston Martin cars are just for wannabes, whereas the AMG GT R versions are for true sports car drivers.

matt, i hope you see this because its the second time i answer your question about the sound, its the waste gate on the small turbos, as soon as it opens upwards of 3000 rpms under load you start getting infiltered exhaust, carrying the authentic sound of the V8 in other cars they are using big twinscrolls (bmw) and big variable geometry turbos (VAG including porsche) with no waste gates, meaning that all the exhaust is chopped up but the turbo killing the sound

@@papa_pt in a car that gets max torque at 1500rpm you open the waste gate at 3000rpms or so, older BMWs have internal bypass waste gates which explain the sound of the early M2s then they switched to a bigger twinscroll turbo that spools really fast and doesn't require a waste gate, in the updated M2 and the CS, the same for the M3/M4, it gives it the naturally aspirated feel instead of the the big shove of torque down low as for porsches they use variabee geometry turbos, the turbo is big and doesn't require a WG the veins of the variable geometry allows it to spool up really fast, it also gives it the overboost function

@@ssllhh100 they open slightly once boost is reached, but are still closed to an extant to maintain boost. yes I have an n54 and my wastegates are permanently stuck open at the moment lol . the N55 started with pneumatic waste gates like n54 then moved to electronic. Same with pretty much all engines. The S55 is NOT twin scroll because it has twin turbos, and a wastegate on each like the n54 (but electronic) . N55 and B58 are twin scroll singles if these cars didn't have wastegates the turbos would be overboosting the crap out of the engines ALL the time

The amg 4.0 is a weapon. And the gearbox is surprisingly good as well. Can be a bit jerky around town but once you got it figured out its alright - and almost pdk levels when going fast. I do miss the deeper sound of the 5.5 though. That turbo spool on a coldstart.... can't beat it. Gearbox was pretty crap though.

Matt is movinn. 😳😂 And I know if it looks fast on camera, it's even faster in person. 😳 I'm usually not the biggest fan of Mercedes. But this car I've always loved. Looks sweet! I'm more into slightly smaller sports cars, with a manual trans. So I would be a fan of the older C63 AMG or CLK63 AMG Black Series if those came with a manual. And therefore for the most part, I've always been a Bmw fan with manual M3's and such. However, if we going up in sizee. I wouldn't mind this big beast here with the dual clutch goin to workk. 😌 Definitely a different boss status driving style.
