ShittyWheelies I do agree that the vlog style does work well with some people, especially the younger crowd, but editing is everything whether you are a vlogger or not. I agree that there's no reason for some of these auto vlogger channels to have elaborative intros / outros, but having clean content with sharp editing really makes a difference.
@shittywheelies74035 жыл бұрын
Brad Carpenter yeah, that wouldn’t be overly edited, though. That’s just good editing. I’m talking about added sound effects and camera effects that are providing “entertainment.” This is usually in videos for a lot younger crowd, like Logan Paul or those types of vloggers. But I agree with you completely.

This guy knows. When I was rebuilding my 2JZ I pretty much did everything he's doing to your engine but switched to the single turbo road from the twins. Reliability first, power second and just do shit right the first time. Preventive maintenance is the best thing you can do to bring your engine back to a near new state. What's even better is that you have a good relationship with your engine builder and show that your car car guy instead of just some dude with money that wants shit done, and this makes life so much more pleasant for guys like him when he decides to undertake a job like this. ****A question**** In the beginning of the 80's I worked for the company that invented Titanium Nitride coating. As a mater of fact, I developed the micro-finishing methods that allowed the coating to bond with drills, carbide inserts, cutting tools, dies etc. and was wondering if you could polish the bearings to a near 0-micro finish and have them work and last longer or Titanium coat the bearings for extreme long wear. Awesome video by the way and thanks for all your videos and all that you do!
@ZBone7994 ай бұрын
4 years late, but you need a little bit of surface roughness to allow the oil to adhere to the bearing and provide the protective layer. Also, as the car sits when it is off, the oil squeezes out and the crank “sinks,” causing a bit of wear on start up, and ruining your perfect finish.

Way to go Matt with giving the right amount of TLC to your Porsche. It sucks bad that this expense happened, but the investment you made now will bring you years of joy. PLUS, if you ever decide to sell you have the rebuild completely documented on video which any future Porsche buyer would love to have for his personal peace of mind. Well done!! It's interesting to watch your journey to Porsche ownership. I know you gave a lot of warnings to 996 and 997 Porsche owner's, or prospective buyers of Porsche, to beware the possible "catastrophic engine failure and rebuild". Which I think is what lead you to looking into the air-cooled motors for more reliability. I could be wrong, maybe you always wanted an air-cooled because Larry's 964 is awesome too. So it was heart breaking to see this engine failure happen to your 3.2. Truth is, this is just reality and most likely will happen to many owners who hold on to cars long term and drive their Porsche the way they are meant to be driven. At some point a possible engine rebuild or refresh will be in order and I enjoy seeing you handle it this way. With proper care and respect this engine will be a blast and you now have the peace of mind knowing this is your personal new motor freshly rebuilt with zero miles. I am sure I have a rebuild in my future and I will take the same care to have mine rebuilt correctly and with lots of attention to the details. Great Job Matt and thanks for sharing your experience with us!!
