CAFE standards are scaled based on weight, so light weight cars with high horsepower have worse fuel economy per pound ratios, so they get the shaft even though they may get better fuel economy than larger vehicles.

Currently the CAFE standards are set to a fee of $5.50 x .1mpg below standard x the annual fleet production of cars. Ferrari sold 9,000 cars last year. If the standard they need to meet is (for arguments sake) 30mpg and (for arguments sake) the average Ferrari gets 7mpg, that's a 23mpg difference. 23 x 10 x $5.50 = $1,265 of penalty per car. Ferrari just has to (and currently does) pass that on to the purchaser. That's literally nothing when we're talking about a $300,000 car. Even if the standard MPG they needed to hit was 100mpg, they'd still be fine. I'm an environmentalist and a car enthusiast. Playing a zero sum game with this means we all lose. We lose clean air for our kids to breathe and we lose sick cars for our kids to whip around a track. We can and should have both, and it's important that we remember that as we move forward as a society. Change is always coming whether you like it or not.

Im pretty sure that in this particular 812 you had M size. In L a man of your (and mine) size fits like a glove. And they are reeeealy comfortable, way more comfy than regular Ferrari seats.
